What is the purpose of film trailers? The purpose of a film trailer is to make people want to watch the film within 2 and half minutes. There are several techniques that are active in order to tantalize the viewer. Music helps to set the mood of the film, normally the music used on the trailer isn’t actually in the film but may be put on the soundtrackThe History behind film trailers. The first movie trailer was for a film called ‘the pleasure seekers’ by a Loews cinemas company1913, apparently it was a short persuasive scene that played before the film. The early trailers were made out of different clip from the movie cut with text. The company that made trailers was the national screen service in 1950s.As films started to change in 60s, so did trailers. The larger, open age of culture brought different types of films which would need to be advertised in a different way. Trailers trailers tend to follow the same pattern as a film, they have a beginning or an introduction sequence, also they have a problem following by a solution, and this shows what the film is about in a trailer. However it has been discussed that the trailer shows too much. For example the trailer for ‘life as we know it’ trailers have 3 common pieces, so they would be separated by 3 songs. The advantages of film trailers is that it gives a glimpse of the film and gets people excited for it, The dis-advantages give all the good

What is E-learning?E-learning is a different way of learning in a classroom anywhere and anytime. E-learning means electronic learning, it can be CD-ROM based or internet based or network based. It can contain information, text, photos, videos, audios, animations and virtual environments. E- Learning allows the creation of very effective learning environments that can overwhelm you in the material. The advantages of eLearning are that eLearning can accommodate different learning styles and facilitate learning through a variety of activities. Dis-advantages is having Slow Internet connections or older computers may make accessing course materials frustratingWhat does E-Learning provide the student? It provides the student with information that can be accessed in free time, this is so the student can go through it at their own pace.it can show progress and achievement from the student with custom feedback and an evaluation available in an interactive environment. What are the typical elements of eLearning material? The element of eLearning material comes from good instructions and it’s similar to what is used in training and educational lessons. Introduction or overview, Information presentation, Practice items with customized, Instructive feedback, Assessments, Evaluation feedback.

Mobile DevicesIt’s a hand held device or a handheld computer. Having either a touch screen for example iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, HTC and LG or with mini keypad for example Blackberry, Nokia, and Samsung. There are many types of mobile devices; the common ones are mobile phones, smartphones, PDAS, pagers and personal navigation devices.Advantages of mobile devices are that if you were in an emergency you could call someone, you can connect to a social networking site and you can take pictures on them. Digital film formats

Mpg: it’s one of the common digital video formats standardized by moving pictures experts groups. It’s also known as mpeg1 or mpeg2, it’s often used for creating movies that are distributed on the internet. Mp4: it’s very common as well. It’s either a movie or a video clip that uses mpeg4 compression. Developed by the moving picture experts group. It’s known for sharing music files on the internet or for a portable media device. Mov: (Apple QuickTime movie) it’s a common multimedia format often used for saving movies or video files. Its developed by apple computers. Its well-suited with both Macintosh and windows platforms.Avi: (audio video interleave) it can be played by many video players.Stores video data that may be fixed in a variety of codecs typically use less compression than formats such as Mpeg and Mov. The player must support the codec used to translate the video data.Wmv: (windows media video) it’s a video file based on Microsoft ASF (advanced systems format) and flattened with windows media compression, like an Asf file and contains video set with one of Wmv exclusive codecs. Flv: (flash video) its compatible video file transferred by flash video exporter plug or other programs with Flv file support. Its contains a short header, interleaved audio and video. Swf: (shockwave flash movie) Animation created with adobe flash may contain text or vector or raster graphics. Also may include interactive written actions. It can be played on web browsers. Also named small web format.

Lossy vs. lossless Lossless compression means that there’s compression that has occurred with no loss of data, however Lossy compression means that there have been some loss of data. Lossless: it’s method that compresses data by losing some of it. The files stores and combines them into achieves that take up less physical space in memory, the file size will become smaller, it’s used when uploading onto the web, it may cause bad image quality.Lossy: Based on irrelevancy decrease plans but will usually also employ some redundancy strategies. It transforms and simplify the media information in a way that gives much larger reductions in file size than lossless compressions. A typical lossless compression can be likely to cut file sizes down to three quarters or two thirds of the original, perhaps even by half if it can. In contrast, a Lossy compression can reduce the file size to as little as 1% of the original, although anything less than 10% is likely to distort the file's content.

Aspect ratio: The ratio of width to height of an object. Stating from the joining of one side to the other, it is widely used to describe the shape of a TV or computer screen. For example, the aspect ratio of a standard screen is 4:3, which is a square rectangle. The 4:3 means "4 to 3," or four units wide to three units high. High-definition TV has a 16:9 ratio, which is a wide rectangle closer in width, but still not as wide, as most cinema screens.

Digital rights management systems: a system for protecting the copyrights of data spread via the Internet or other digital media by enabling safe distribution and disabling illegal distribution of the data. Typically, a system protects intellectual property by either converting the data so that it can only be accessed by authorized users or marking the content with a digital watermark or similar method so that the content cannot be freely distributed.
