The whole event was a joy to behold with a wonderful outdoor mass which could be heard all around Southchurch and beautiful dancing from all classes across the school. It was truly a beautiful and spiritual morning that made me feel proud to be part of this amazing catholic community. Thank you all for your many donations for the Summer Fayre this weekend. I look forward to seeing you all there even if it does mean that I may be covered in beans, Angel Delight and feathers!

Mr Bragard’s Weekly Update
This summer term has been action packed and this week has been filled with fun and excitement like no other. Year 4 had a wonderful residential at Belchamps at the end of last week. The children were amazing and many conquered their fears. Shame Mr Overton-Smith didn’t get much sleep! On Thursday we had the Going for Gold Day. This year, the infants had a fun day at school with a range of activities including water games, construction, parachute games and much more. The children came out of school buzzing! KS2 enjoyed their trip to Adventure Island with the children enjoying many rides including the new and scary Axis. Finally this week, we had our beautiful Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The whole event was a joy to behold with a wonderful outdoor mass which could be heard all around Southchurch and beautiful dancing from all classes across the school. It was truly a beautiful and spiritual morning that made me feel proud to be part of this amazing catholic community. Thank you all for your many donations for the Summer Fayre this weekend. this week to reinforce their message that children
should ‘Stay safe – speak out.’ They also delivered
interactive workshops to Year 5 and 6 and led
discussions about keeping themselves safe in a
variety of different situations. We discussed the
importance of talking to their ‘trusted adults’ as a
first step. As part of our focus on mental wellbeing,
it was another opportunity for our pupils to know
that there is a different outlet for them, if they feel
are feeling worried and are not sure who to talk to.

Last Weeks of FoodbankThere are only three weeks left to send in your items for our Foodbank collection! The foodbank will require lots of food over the summer so please can you send in as much as you can. Even if you haven’t contributed before, any contribution will be greatly appreciated.EYFS and KS1 are collecting rice, and KS2 are collecting canned fish.Thank you for your help.
RetirementSadly, we will say goodbye to Mr Tallon at the end of this year as he has announced his intention to retire from teaching. Mr. Tallon’s contribution to Catholic Education has been considerable, spanning over many years. We are so very grateful for the many years of service he has given to Sacred Heart School. His dedication and hard work for so many families of Sacred Heart has been significant – this can be summed up in his resolve to remove stabilisers for a young pupil to enable him to ride. This provides a great illustration of his role for our community - he will be sorely missed.
If you would like to make a donation to his retirement collection, please do so in the office.

Stay and PrayAs part of our weekly routine at Sacred Heart, pupils and teachers regularly gather together within their classes to pray during Class Worship sessions.
As a Catholic school, we recognise the importance of coming together to pray and worship our faith. We would like to extend an invitation to parents and carers to join your child’s class for their ‘Stay and Pray’ Class Worship. This is an important opportunity for us all to be gathered in His name.
We look forward to seeing as many parents/carers as possible to join us at our Stay and Pray class worship sessions. If you would like to join us for this special occasion, please indicate your intention to attend by ticking the relevant consent box our online system School Money.
We detail below the Stay and Pray sessions that have been planned for this term:
