the ones in need, Rotaract Club Beograd Čukarica got together and did a
food-raising action for two Roma families. The two families caught our
eye with humbleness and asking for food instead of money. We success-
fully collected two shopping carts, which were later transported to their
homes. These are our first two cents to them, and hopefully, not the
last.

Earth Hour
On Saturday we gathered at Aero Club to support the global event “Earth hour”. From
8:30 pm to 9:30 we had a pleasant, casual meeting under the candlelight. Actual slo-
gan for this year is 'Every hour can become Earth Hour' and it clearly communicates
that the main point of this event is continuous change of our everyday habits related to
usage of electric energy and other resources.

Visiting RTC friends from Nis and
supporting their traditional action
In order to continue the great cooperation started last Rotarian year, mem-
bers of Rotaract Club Beograd-Sava visited Nis. The main reason was the in-
coming twinning of Rotaract Club Beograd-Sava and Rotaract Club Nis-
Naissus. After the meeting where we discused about the details of twinning
and joint action we went out with our RTC friends from Nis and Prokuplje.
On the next day, we supported the traditional action hosted by Nis-Naissus-
the skiing trip to Stara planina.
Date: 2nd and 3rd
of March 2013 Place: Nis and Stara Planina
Goal: Planning the
joint action and
twinning with RTC

Antimatter’s Magnetic Charge Revealed
Scientists say they've made the most precise measurements to date of the magnetic charge of sin-gle particles of matter and its spooky counterpart antimatter. A better understanding of the characteristics of these particles could help scientists solve one of the most baffling mysteries in physics: Why is the universe made of matter and not antimatter? "According to our theories, the same amount of matter and antimatter was produced during the
Big Bang," Harvard physicist Gerald Gabrielse explained in a statement. "When matter and anti-matter meet, they are annihilated. As the universe cools down, the big mystery is: Why didn't all the matter find the antimatter and annihilate all of both? There's a lot of matter and no antimatter left, and we don't know why."
Gabrielse and his team captured individual protons and antiprotons in a trap created bz electro-
magnetic fields that keep these particles suspended in one spot for several minutes, ensuring the
two don't annihilate each other before measurements are made. For some of their experiments,
the team turned to the extensive tunnels of the Geneva-based CERN laboratory By looking at the
oscillations of the protons and antiprotons created, the scientists measured the size of the magnet-
ic charge of both types of particles more accurately than ever before, boosting the precision of the
antiproton measurement by a factor of 680.
