The information contained in this newsletter has been
obtained from sources believed to be reliable, & the editor
has exercised reasonable care to assure its accuracy.
However, the Local Union does not guarantee that contents
of the publication are correct, & statements attributed to
other sources do not necessarily reflect the opinion of Local
Union #160.
Since the last newsletter I have had the damaged ceiling tiles replaced thoughout the St. Anthony building. Some of
the damaged came when we replaced our roof two summers ago and some were damaged before the new roof was
replaced.
The Grand Rapids building is moving along well. Once the contractor gets the building enclosed and sealed up from
outside weather effects, we will get a firm date of when the building will be done. Right now we are being told by
October 1st. If you are interested in seeing the progress, the address is 300 SE 17th Street. Below are two pictures of
the new building. The picture on the left is the front door and the picture on the right, (the door on the other side of
the pickup truck) is the door to the meeting hall.
Our document scanning program, - “Content Central”, is now installed and up and running. Stacy is scanning all of
Local 160 documents into this program. Local Union 160 has nearly one million documents to be scanned and I am
estimating that this project will take a little over a year to complete. Content Central will make it easier for everyone
to research and retrieve documentation for grievances, arbitration cases, etc.
The Annual Sportsmen Alliance Clay Shoot will be on Saturday, September 12, 2015. With the help of a couple
organizations and Local 160, there will be four teams of five people to fill. If you are interested in making a firm
commitment, please contact Dan Kieffer, Business Representative, at (612) 309-8640. If there is an overwhelming
response for joining a team, we will fill the teams by random drawing.
Just a reminder, don’t forget that the 32nd Annual Pig Roast will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2015 from
11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m..
Fraternally,
Thomas G. Koehler
