Term 3 Fees:
Term 3 is over half way already! An updated statement was posted out earlier this term, with an-other being sent out in the next two weeks to families with balances outstanding. Thank you to the families with nil or credit balances.
For those who pay by term the fees are as below:
Year 7 - 8 students: $210.00
Year 9 - 13 students: $301.50
Please remember that when you signed your son’s enrolment form, you agreed to pay all compulsory fees (we are essentially a private College). However, we are always approachable to make arrangements to help when genuine circumstances overwhelm you. Please contact us!
Or if you have not done so already - set up a payment plan and notify us of the details. Doing this will make it easier for you to meet your commitment of the payment of these fees.

Congratulations to the Under 17’s A team on their great accomplishment. The team was unbeaten with the grand final against Waitakere College in the Western Zone Secondary Schools Tournament.
They were impressive and ended up with a score of 47 – 31.
They then advanced to the Greater Auckland Championships with seven of the best teams in and around Auckland. They won two of their three pool games and ended up facing Westlake College in the semi-finals. They made a great attempt to win but unfortunately lost 40 – 35 (to Pao-lo Calugay who gave a man of the match performance).
In losing they are now third best in the Division 1 Under 17’s team for the whole of the Auckland region.
Great effort boys – Liston College is proud of you all!

Hi, did you know
Families who pay their full fees by the end of October - will go into the draw for one of the three $250 Pak ‘n Save Vouchers – very handy when coming up to Christmas time! We suggest you try to schedule your payments so the last one is made by the 31st October (please note this must include ALL fees).
Five Simple Rules to be Happy
The 92 year old, petite, well poised and proud lady, who is fully dressed each morning by eight o’clock,
with her hair fashionably coifed and makeup perfectly applied, even though she is legally blind – moved
to a nursing home today.
Her husband of 70 years recently passed away, making the move necessary.
After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home, she smiled sweetly when told her
room was ready.
As she manoeuvred her walker to the elevator, I provided a visual description of her tiny room, including
the eyelet curtains that had been hung on her window. “I love it,” she stated with the enthusiasm of an
eight year old having just been presented with a new puppy.
“Mrs Jones, you haven’t seen the room …just wait.”
“That doesn’t have anything to do with it,’ she replied.
“Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time.”
“Whether I like the room or not doesn’t depend on how the furniture is arranged …. It’s how I arrange
my mind. I already decided to love it.”
“It’s a decision I make every morning when I wake up. I have a choice, I can spend the day in bed
recounting the difficulty I have with the parts of my body that no longer work, or get out of bed and be
thankful for the ones that do.”
“Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open I’ll focus on the new day and all the happy memories
I’ve stored away … just for this time in my life.
“Old age in like a bank account … you withdraw from what you’ve put in. So, my advice to you would be
to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank account of memories.”
Thank you for your part in filling my Memory Bank. I am still depositing.
