Answer: No, not pizza. We all do home delivery! That’s right - on Saturday, October 8 th we will begin delivering food to shut-ins in the Greater Newport area. We will be working in partnership with the Brighton Center’s CARE program. This will insure people who are temporary or long term shut-ins will receive the monthly food allotment they would normally receive by visiting St. Paul’s Pantry and/or Brighton Center. Here’s how it works… Brighton Center supplies most of the food. We can supplement if we have an abundance of a perishable item. St. Paul’s volunteers (working in 2 person teams) pick up the food at Brighton Center and deliver it to the shut-ins. The shut-in person is then given a “menu” so they can select the items they would like to receive at the next delivery. The following good folks are making this happen: Chris and Joni Deinlein, Rosemary Kovacs, Jim Leinert, CW and Bonnie Spencer, Ellen Staverman, Karen Vannasdall, Wayne Utz, Nina Prysock (Brighton Center), and Deacon Tom. We read in John’s Gospel, just before Jesus left this earth, He instructed Simon Peter to care for the dearest objects of His love—His sheep. How could anyone care for them as Jesus cares? Only out of love for Him. There is no other way. Continued on next page Please join us every Monday at 8 am for our Morning Prayer service. Coffee and conversation follow.

One of our primary tasks as a Christian community is discipleship, our own following of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Beginning on Sunday, October 11, you are invited to participate in a eight week study and discussion with Fr. Matt entitled “Jesus is Risen and That Changes Everything.” Over the course of eight sessions, we will explore important teachings of the Christian faith. Our time together will begin at 9:30 a.m. and last for one hour each. Why not give it a try? You might just find it something you have always needed. Here’s the schedule: October 11 The Good News of the Church
