encourage you to renew your annual Friends
membership now—to support the Georgetown Library
in its work for the children and families who use its
resources.
Due in large part to donations
from the Friends, the 2018
Georgetown Library Summer
Reading Program was a
success! Hundreds of local kids
enjoyed puppet shows,
encounters with wildlife and
fossils, magic performances,
arts and crafts, and more.
Many thanks from the
Summer Reading Program!
Winyah High School Collection
Thanks to the commendable efforts of the Winyah High School Yearbook Committee led
by Danny Brabham, the Georgetown County Library System has a complete run of these
historic annuals from 1939 to 1984. This collection is housed in a special cabinet in the
Georgetown Library’s Patricia D. Doyle Local History Room. The yearbooks are accessible
to the public and are being scanned for display in the Georgetown County Digital Library
(www.gcdigital.org). Nearly $1,600 in donations to this project have been received from
the following generous individuals: Elizabeth G. and John E. Bazemore, Sr., Elizabeth D.
