The Multi-Sport Indoor Facility Feasibility Study started in February 2017 was completed in the Spring of 2018 followed by public presentations. The project continues with private consultations with various stakeholders and potential facility building partner funders. The Committee plans to present the study findings and recommendations to the City of Hamilton Council in January/February 2019. Thank you to all the sport groups, coaches, athletes, parents and various individuals and organizations who completed the surveys as part of the feasibility study.

It has been another successful season for the ArcelorMittal Dofasco Grassroots Soccer Pan Am Legacy Program. There were just over 450 children from Wards 2 and 3 who participated in this free program from June 19- August 28. The program ran on Tuesdays at Tim Horton’s Field from 6:15-7:15pm for the 5-8 year olds and from 7:30-8:30pm for the 9-12 year olds with 60 registered volunteer coaches. Thank you to ArcelorMittal Dofasco, Hamilton Athletic Trust, City of Hamilton Recreation Department and Hamilton & District Soccer Association for their continued support. This year Repeat Champions and Canada Soccer Active Start Soccer Fest provided additional support of the program. Thank you to Hamilton Moves Project for providing coaches training opportunities for the volunteers.
Extensive positive feedback from the parents and coaches was provided, and lots of sweat and smiles from the children was obvious after each session as well. Hoping for continued fun and building of physical skills in the 2019 season.
