ISSUE 2 September 2019 Michael – moved from BASS accommodation to Nacro Homes Agency Sheffield. Michael was a HDC case from Bradford who accepted BASS accommodation in Sheffield. He wanted to make a fresh start and leave his past behind him, following a history of offending and drug use. Unfortunately, Sheffield Council was unable to house him as he had no ties to the area and hadn’t been living there very long. Other services considered him too high risk. His support worker referred him to Nacro Homes Agency, explaining that Michael displayed excellent behaviour, was showing a positive, proactive attitude and had been drug-free since his release. He was immediately offered an assessment and a place in Sheffield, just two streets away from his BASS address. This meant he was still close to the new friends he had made and gave him a great chance to stick to positive new habits. nacro.org.uk Registered charity no. 226171 Got any questions?
