Limits: 15 entries each day. A team counts as one entry. If less than 3 entries are received, the test will be

cancelled. If entries fill, an alternate list will be established. Openings will be filled from the alternate list in the

order received.

Re-qualifiers will be accepted on a "space available" basis. In other words, untitled dogs will be given first

priority even if their entry is received after that of a titled dog.

No post entry of teams will be accepted.

Bitches in season will be allowed to participate, however they will be judged after ALL other entries have

completed the ENTIRE TEST.

No carts will be provided.

ENTRY FEE: $45.00 per entry (a team counts as a single entry). Please make checks payable to the

Newfoundland Club of Northern California or NCNC.

RULES REGARDING REDUCING SPREAD OF COVID-19

Do not come to the event if you are sick.

People who have COVID-19 symptoms should get tested and must isolate unless they have a

negative test result. No participant can show evidence of COVID-19 nor have had known

exposure to a person with COVID-19 within the last two weeks.

Follow physical distancing requirements (minimum of 6 feet between yourself and others with

whom you don’t live) except for brief stewarding functions.

Wear a mask. Masks must be worn at all times except when eating.

Wash (or sanitize) your hands frequently.

The above guidelines will be adjusted to meet the state and local guidelines in effect on the

dates of the tests.

REGULATIONS

This Draft test is sanctioned by the Working Dog Committee of the Newfoundland Club of America (NCA) which will use

the test regulations dated January 1, 2016 and revised April 2019. Entrants are responsible for obtaining and reading the

regulations. They may be downloaded from the NCA web page - www.ncanewfs.org.

For the beginner draft test (BDD) all exercises are on leash.

TEST SITE

Description: The draft test rules state that the handler should use equipment suitable for the test terrain.

The site has a variety of surfaces including grass, dirt and gravel. There is a walnut orchard and a wood pile.

The freight haul route may include all of these surfaces as well as gradual ups and downs. One may

encounter people with children and dogs. Anyone with further questions concerning the site should contact the

test secretary for details.

Directions to the test site: The site is located at 4918 Jaybee Lane, Winters, CA 95694. From the Bay

area on eastbound I-80, take Interstate 505 north from Vacaville. Exit at Allendale road and go north on Tubbs

Rd, the east frontage road. Turn right on Jaybee lane. The address is on the right shortly after going up a

steep little hill. From the east exit Interstate 80 at Dixon Avenue and turn right on Dixon Ave at the end of the

ramp. At the end of the road, turn right on Meridian Rd then left at the next intersection onto Allendale Rd.

Just before Interstate 505, turn right on the frontage road, Tubbs Rd. and follow the directions above to the

address.

Parking at Test Site: There will be a designated place for parking.

Practice: The site is not open for practice before the test.

There are a number of motels in the Vacaville area that accept well-behaved pets. Check on line for rates and limitations.

FOOD: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, no food will be provided. Nor will there be pre- or post-trial dinners.

Exhibitors are advised to provide their own food. Many restaurants in Vacaville provide take-out. If this

changes, entrants will be notified.

CATALOG ADVERTISING

Only black and white catalog advertising is available this year. The format will be 8.5” X 11”. Catalog ads help

offset the costs of the test and would be an excellent place to advertise your Newfy items or your kennel. Copy

must be camera ready unless prior arrangements have been made. Please send advertising copy to the Test

Secretary

The rates for ads ready for photocopying are as follows (deadline March 20, 2021):

Full Page: $20.00

Half Page $10.00

PHOTOGRAPHS

Photographs will be available on line after the test.

DONATIONS

Donations will be gratefully accepted at any time and will be acknowledged in the catalog if received by March 22, 2021.
