FEBRUARY 2014 Our Talk. Our Walk. Every Day! Platinum Service ® Standard #20 “I am an ambassador for our company and continually promote our services. I always conduct myself with integrity and uncompromising values.” What does it mean to be an ambassador for our community? An ambassador is not only a representative; being an ambassador implies the ability to demonstrate the values of the organization in our daily actions. It also means that we care for the organization and we support its aspirations and goals. As company representatives serving our residents, we are proud of what our communities stand for, and we are comfortable in promoting our company’s services with confidence and enthusiasm. In other words, what we do, and the way we do it, is the result of a direct personal connection with our team and our confidence in our community. Being an ambassador goes well beyond the concept of being “good at our job,” it requires an emotional connection with our profession. “Integrity is what we do, what we say, and what we say we do.” — Don Galer at Regal Palms www.regalalf.com New Year’s Eve We had another blockbuster party this year, featuring music by Fiona Frensche and Denny Bridges. Our theme was “Starry Night,” and what a night it was! Enjoy the pictures. A Matter of Balance From Feb. 3 through Feb. 26, we will once again have “A Matter of Balance” classes at 10 a.m. in the Ice Cream Parlor on Mondays and Wednesdays. The goal of this educational series is fall prevention. If you are interested, please RSVP to Lisa Hatton or Lenah Robles in the Marketing Department. Reminder Safety First! February Calendar Highlights Today’s Military

Lieutenant Commander Richard Williams, resident Barbara M.’s son, recently spoke at The Plaza, giving those in attendance a glimpse into today’s military. Barbara looked on proudly as her son informed us that tanks are becoming somewhat obsolete, because most military action in the future will be fought with drones or other remotely controlled technologies.“Ric,” as his mom calls him, attends The United States Army War College (USAWC) in Carlisle, Pa., on the 500-acre campus of the historic Carlisle Barracks. It provides graduate-level instruction to senior military officers and civilians to prepare them for senior leadership assignments and responsibilities (www.wikipedia.com).Thank you, Barbara, for setting up this program. We thank your son for his service to our country, as well.
