The theme of a House of Birth is a good task for developing new inner skills and useful practical abilities. It is a chance to go a step further. Our consciousness has changed so lets change our world along with it!

“The mother’s eyes and feelings are the way to the world for the baby before and after birth”. How can we receive these little beings? How we design our surroundings means a lot for the feeling life of the mother. If the space causes stress in the mother, because it is Hospital-like and cold, it causes stress in the child… Today, everybody knows how the first moments and feelings of our life affect the whole development of our life story. Trauma therapy often leads back to and focuses on this particular beginning moment of our lives. If we create less stressful surroundings, we can support and strengthen countless human beings for their whole life!

Through exercising on this subject, new skills begin to arise.Today, we are slowly starting to understand that illnesses are arising because of our unhealthy environments (SBS – Sick Building Syndrome). Hospitals, Office Buildings, Hotels, Schools etc. are like factories for the sick with their cold and lifeless materials, fluorescent lighting and rigid room layouts. But, even more importantly, these illnesses arise fundamentally because of our disconnection from the Whole and our Spirit. We are creating our own illnesses not just physical ones like AIDS and Cancer but also the inner ones : like “Burnout” or Hyperactivity (ADD/ ADHD) of our kids. In the past 100 years, we have created a major dissonance between our new inner possibilities and the environment.

We feel that something is wrong, but, we often still do not bring these new possibilities into our lives. In this century, we can see a change in our attitude about health and life through a tendency to more holistic practices such as Herbal and Natural healing, Yoga, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Reiki, Acupuncture etc. Today, this new impulse needs to be fully expressed in the spaces of our physi-cal world through an architecture of a new consciousness, “Where content and form are one.”

Uniting Body, Space and SpiritThe span of the last 500 years was dictated by the development and discovery of Science (the material world) by means of analytical thinking. Based on what humanity has devel-oped in this previous period, we are moving and evolving into an epoch of Creativity and Harmony. The new means of this new time in humanity is our faculty of Intuition.

So how do we prepare for this task?

The Key is Intuition. There is a faculty within us that has an entirely new ability to reach whole truths and it has reached its strongest potential in humanity at this present stage on earth. This new potential is the gift of intuition. But, this faculty of intuition needs to be care-fully trained otherwise it dies away. Focusing on the place where new life is born is a good task to exercise this faculty. This will serve as a practical training ground.

During this interdisciplinary course, we will train our faculty of intuition through simple practical exercises that will unleash our artistic potential to create healthy and joy filled spaces for human growth! ...Gaining new skills for a new epoch!

The Organic Architecture Academy International Seminar will be about how to open up and work with your own creative potential. It will provide design training for practitioners who are involved in the fields of design, art, education, healing and birthing. Coppenrath’s life experiences finally led him to the universal tool of Intuition.

As a German born architect from the West, who lived and worked in Eastern European cites like Kiev and Warsaw, one of Coppenrath’s main achievements is developing an architectural design method which finds a balance between the Eastern and Western attitudes. In addition, his design approach or focus is on an architecture which really develops out of a strong sense of the deeper needs of the user - the hu-man being - thus giving the building a soul again! It is a method which aims to create space around the practical and spiritual needs of human beings, which never was as individual then it is today. The work of Coppenrath is also an exploration of buildings as a ‘Body’ or ‘Organism’. He sees the building as a visual sculpture or expression of its inner forces - the being of the Site, Family, Group or Institution. His architectural and pedagogical approach is constantly growing and evolving and can never be categorized or labelled as having a certain ‘style’.

Reinhard Coppenrath has given several workshops on Organic Architecture and Practical Intuition in vari-ous cities such as, Kiev, Budapest, Munich, Berlin, Warsaw, Krakow, Prague and Izmir.

Reinhard Coppenrath studied Organic Architecture and Sculpture at the Alanus University in Bonn, Germany and Alternative Pedagogy at the University of Warsaw, Poland. He lived and worked as a teacher and architect for 13 years in Poland and Ukraine where he deepened his knowledge in the field of alternative pedagogy, language, dance and architecture. For the past 25 years Coppenrath has been working on these questions:
