BIBLE:1. Read Psalm 119Every Saturday, if you do not practice preparation for Sunday’s reading with your family or any other group, you will read Dr. Bergsma’s commentary from the blog http://www.thesacredpage.com for the Sunday’s readings.
After reading, meditate on a chosen fragment and write your own reflections You can start reading these commentaries during summer.
Note to parents:Please, contact me, if you have any questions or if the assignments load is to big. The purpose of this class is not only to get aquainted with the salvation history of the Bible, but to immerse our minds and hearts in the Word of God, which has power to change, uplift, convert, give life and cut through the hearts of men, so they can pursue God with zeal. We will try to establish daily rhytm of reading quite big chunks of the Scriptures and habit of meditatig on short parts of the Scriptures daily and preparing for Sunday’s Mass readings.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING:1. Binder with paper, pen 2. Your own Bible, highlighting tool (marker or special
pencil) or pencil3. Workbook4. Bible Journal: During this course we will take time daily to meditate on the Scriptures. You will need a notebook in which you will write down your observations, meditations, reflections and questions. It will become your Bible Journal, where you will record not only your own thoughts, but also what God will say to you. 5. $5 for printing materials and free donations based on the satisfaction of students and parents (not expected but will be surely gratefully received)
WRITING ASSIGNMENT:1. After completeing your textbook reading, answer the questions in Workbook for ch. 30
