Product descriptionThe MTA pumps are designed for pumping of coolinglubricants for machine tools, condensate transfer andother similar applications.
MTA pumps are suitable for applications involving elec-trical discharge machine tools, grinding machines, machining centers, cooling units, industrial washingmachines, filtering systems, etc.
The pumps feature ...
• low pressure
• open impeller
• filled PTFE bearing for high vibration resistance
• stainless steel impeller and shaft
• easy installation.
In addition, the two separate outlets of the MTAD two-chamber pump allow for high flexibility and ease of usein applications requiring flows different places.
Pumped liquidsThe pumps are suitable for pumping non-explosiveliquids, including water and water-soluble coolants andcutting lubricants.
PumpThe MTA pumps are one-chamber or two-chambercentrifugal pumps, of which the latter type, MTAD, hastwo separate outlets. Mounting flange dimensions areaccording to DIN 5440/JEM 1242.
MotorThe pump is fitted with a totally enclosed, fan-cooledmotor.
Enclosure type: TEFC (IP 54)Insulation class: F
Standard voltages
Other voltages are available on request.
MTAD 7/7 is available with plug connector, HAN 10 ES,on request.
Three-phase motors must be connected to a motorstarter in accordance with local regulations.
Operating conditionsLiquid temperature: +14°F to +194°F
Ambient temperatureMaximum +104°F (+40°C).
If the ambient temperature exceeds +104°F (+40°C) or ifthe motor is located 3280 ft. (1000 m) above sea level, the motor output (P2) must be reduced due to the lowdensity and consequently low cooling effect of the air. Insuch cases, it may be necessary to use a motor with ahigher output.
Example:From the above figure appears that P2 must be reducedto 88% when the pump is installed 11,000 ft (3500 m)above sea level. At an ambient temperature of 156°F(70°C), P2 must be reduced to 80% of rated output.

MTC
Product descriptionMTC is designed for pumping cooling lubricants formachine tools, condensate transfer and other purposes.
MTC is specially designed for applications offering onlylimited space for installation. Motor and pump form anintegral, compact unit consisting of few components. The pump is designed for medium pressure.
The pump can be used for applications involving lathes, grinding machines, machining centres, cooling units, industrial washing machines, filtering systems, swarfconveyors etc.
Pumped liquidsThin, clean, non-explosive liquids without abrasiveparticles or fibers. Both water and water-soluble cool-ants and cutting lubricants can be pumped.
PumpThe pump is a multistage, centrifugal pump withmechanical shaft seal. Mounting flange sizes accordingto DIN 5440. To meet specific depths of tanks orcontainers, the installation length of the pump can bevaried using empty chambers. Available variants arebased on the number of stages indicated in the dimen-sions and weights tables.
MotorThe pump is fitted with a totally enclosed, fan-cooledmotor.
Enclosure type: TEFC (IP 54)Insulation class: FStandard voltages, 60 Hz: 3 x 208 - 230/460 V
Three-phase motors must be connected to a motorstarter in accordance with local regulations.

Type key Installation
If the MTC 2/4 pump is installed horizontally, the motorstool drain hole must be closed with a 1/8 in. pipe plug.
To enable a very low liquid level of 1 1/2 in. (37mm) forMTC 2/4 and 1 5/8 in. (40mm) for MTC 8/12/16 above thebottom of the strainer, a priming screw is fitted belowthe bottom intermediate chamber. This protects thepump against dry running down to 7/8 in. (22mm) forMTC 2/4 and 1 in. (25mm) for MTC 8/12/16 above thebottom of the strainer.
Distance between pump and tank bottom must beminimum 1 inch (25mm).

Loss curves for CRK 8 and CRK 16
Pressure loss in pumps with empty chambers
In pumps with empty chambers, there will be one or twochambers with a bearing. These chambers will have apressure loss which must be deducted from the perform-ance curves. The pressure loss can be found on thecurves below.
The number of empty chambers with bearing is found inthe table at the bottom of the page.
Curve 1 = Pumps with one empty chamber with bearing

Number of empty chambers with bearing in pumps with empty chambers
Product descriptionMTR is designed for pumping cooling lubricants formachine tools, condensate transfer and other purposes.
MTR is a strong and sturdy pump, designed for mediumto high pressure and large flows.
The pumps can be used for applications involving sparkmachine tools, grinding machines, machining centers, cooling units, industrial washing machines, filteringsystems etc.

Motor protection
Single-phase motors have a built-in thermal overloadswitch.
Three-phase motors must be connected to a motorstarter in accordance with local regulations.
Operating conditionsLiquid temperature: -4°F to +194°F (-20°C to +90°C).
