They were Tiffany Chua, Jia Ying Kho and Sophie Wooldridge. All girls did a great job presenting three challenging subjects. Jai Ying spoke on ‘Stereotypes and encouraged us to remove judgements’. Tiffany’s subject was ‘Prejudices and judging a book by its cover’, whilst Sophie’s subject was ‘Conforming or standing up for what you believe in’. Whilst the three students where extremely close, Tiffany Chua was judged the winner and received a $50 book voucher. All three students were presented with a Certificate of Participation. Other guests and visitors to the Club were Head of Yr 10 Teacher Suzy Payne, Gordon Hay, Elham Teimouri, Maryam Hamzavi and Paula McBain. Lovely to have all of you at the meeting. Meeting 28th September Our speaker will be Garry Baverstock AM, an Eco Architect who will tell members about ‘Climatic, Economic and Sustainability Challenges for this Century’ and the importance of the built environment. Garry has a long term association with Rotary having been a Rotaractor in his youth, started the Rotaract Club of Subiaco in 1970/71. His wife Julia Hayes was a member and Past President of the RC of Claremont- Cottesloe. Julia attended the Charter Night of the RCFB and both Garry and Julia came along to the Club’s first Christmas function and on hearing about our microscopes, donated $100 to the project. No regular meeting 5th October. Would all members please remember that the regular meeting of the Club will be transferred to the End Polio Breakfast meeting on Wednesday morning, 5th October at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre 7.00am – 9.00am. Three students from
MLC competed in the
Four Way Speaking
Contest at the meeting
on Wednesday
evening. They were
Tiffany Chua, Jia Ying
Kho and Sophie
Wooldridge.
All girls did a great job
