Ours is a world where we speak in sound-bites, tweets, and posts, and find that in this scramble, we are eager for truth that endures. Our homes, families, workplaces, and communities desperately need the divine insight that Proverbs supplies. Join us for a five-week journey into a collection of brilliant, often blunt, sayings that speak God's slow, truth- filled wisdom to us both now and in the days ahead. Take Root and Construction Set Up a Recurring Gift This Summer Did you know you can set up a one-time or recurring gift through Pushpay? It is automatically deducted from your bank account or credit card on the date or dates you choose. To set up your gift, visit cc-ob.org/giving and follow the prompts for recurring gifts. Be sure to click “yes” when it asks if you want to repeat this gift. Pushpay is safe and secure. Information: cc-ob.org/giving Contact: Jody Paige / [email protected] / 630.321.3909 "Connecting With God Wherever You Are" That's the title of our new pocket-sized accordion pamphlet that gives you step-by-step instructions for setting up and using Pushpay from your smartphone during offertory or when you are away. It's also a guide to accessing the many other resources from Christ Church readily available to you when you are on the go. With our app, both our Livestream Worship services and our entire Sermon Library are right there in your pocket or purse. By adding the Bible app, you can stay current with your daily devotionals or follow along with Scripture references during worship--and no one will think you are checking your email. Pick up your Pocket Guide to "Connect With God" at any of the Guest Centers in the Commons. Building Our Capacity to Extend Help and Hope to Thousands More Thanks to the generosity of our Take Root initiative participants, we are rapidly approaching the time when the much- anticipated outreach and ministry activity begins to take shape. Over the next several months we are interested in building relationships with highly motivated individuals with ministry and/or marketplace experience who are sensing a call to use their gifts to further Kingdom impact, equip disciples within the context of intentional relationships, and expand the ministries on our Oak Brook and multisite campuses. If this describes you - or someone you know - check out the many opportunities being considered at cc-ob.org/employment. Stay Up-To-Date About Take Root The congregation is in the midst of a two-year initiative to Root, Grow, and Extend for the sake of others. What does that mean? How can you participate? Check out the Take Root website at takerootccob.org. Grow Your Influence Matters to Christ Church The Global Leadership Summit | August 10-11 Achieving the goals of the Take Root Initiative will take all of us--staff and congregation alike--using our gifts to do the extraordinary. One gift we all share is influence. And our influence becomes the gift of powerful leadership when it is used with intentionality. Learning how to leverage our influence for the good of God's kingdom couldn't be easier as we'll be hosting a live telecast of the Global Leadership Summit right here on our campus. It's not too late to register. Just visit: cc-ob.org/gls2017.
