Marketing Summary

As New-disk’s main target market will be the younger generation we intend to focus our advertisements to mediums that will reach this market.

The majority of our advertisements will be communicated electronically and over the internet. We have also realised that by only catering to technological marketing we would be leaving out a portion of the market who do not frequently use the internet, so have also decided on the production of tangible advertisements.

We will focus our marketing on; Flyers Social Networking Pod casts/Video uploads Radio Phone Applications

Flyers

We decided that flyers would be effective for marketing as it provided a tangible advertisement the market can refer to.

They would be distributed at gigs and social hotspots such as shopping centres as we believe this is an effective method of reaching the younger generation without resorting to the use of computers.

The flyer would contain information about New-Disk, the products they are providing and any up-coming events or competitions.

Social Networking

Social networking websites are among the most regularly visited websites in the world. Over 150 million people in the world have Facebook accounts, so we believe it is important to target this segment of the market.

We believe that this medium is highly effective as it is very popular among younger generations and completely free to create. We would target Facebook, Myspace and Bebo.

Success of this medium would rely on internet marketing and through word of mouth so posters and images would be essential.

Pod casts

This medium will be similar to the reasoning behind the social networking.

It would be cheap to create as all that you need is a microphone, computer, and audio editing software such as Audacity.

By creating audio that would be entertaining and amusing people would enjoy listening while also being informed of information about New-Disk. The company’s featured bands could have their songs played here also to give the listeners a taste of the company’s work.

The pod casts could be posted on New-Disk’s social networking pages.

Radio

Radio adverts would address people who enjoy listening to music. Since New-Disk’s market is the music industry this form of advertising would be effective as it would reach the people who would have the most interest.

Although it may be costly to buy air time, it would pay off as so many potential customers would be informed.

Creation of the advert wouldn’t be too cost demanding as all that is needed is the same things needed for a pod cast – microphone, computer and audio editing software.

Phone Applications

Over 90% of people in Britain own mobile phones. Many companies already use mobile advertising, the most well known being cinema companies such as Odeon and Vue.

By setting up Bluetooth hotspots in busy public areas we can advertise directly to the public’s phones.

By either just providing information this way or sending mini-games for the public to play they will be informed of the business through a medium that they are used to and enjoy using.
