During the Jazz age of the 1920's, "the cat's pajamas" referred to anything special, unique or "cool.” Musically speaking, the image of a cat in pajamas might suggest combining low clarinets (reminiscent of Prokofiev's use of a clarinet to describe the cat in "Peter And The Wolf") with a jaunty little tune in ragtime style, adding a few instrumental "meows," and you have (what else?): “The Cat’s Pajamas: A Felicitous Feline Ragtime Novelty!” Audiences and performers will love it from head to tail! Chasing Sunlight was inspired by the experience of driving west into the setting sun, as if trying to keep up with the earth's rotation to catch the last few rays of light before dusk. The steady eighth note motif throughout the piece represents this sense of urgency, while the soaring, lyrical themes depict the warmth and radiance of the sun low in the sky. Just as the sun will always set, humans must accept the impermanence of all things in life, and make the most of every opportunity before it has passed. Chasing Sunlight also represents the ongoing pursuit of these opportunities. Duration: 2:51 Price: $90.00

Inspired by an Arabic folk song of the same name, the music describes a rainstorm followed by a harvest celebration. Opening with atmospheric sounds, the music slowly increases in intensity, accompanied by the compelling sounds of a thunder sheet. A powerful percussion section joins with brass to signal the storm’s arrival before the music erupts in dance and celebration. Duration: 4:45 Price: $99.95

Commissioned by The United States Marine Band and premiered in 1987, Clare Grundman's Concord has remained a staple in the wind band repertoire. The middle section of this work is a beautiful chorale based on the early hymn “America” composed by William Billings. Explore the colorful sounds of India in this work that brings elements of modern “Indian pop” (similar to Bollywood) to the concert band. Using a wealth of authentic instruments (including plenty of suggestions for suitable alternatives), the music has such a unique and colorful sound that the orchestration seemingly jumps off the page. From ethereal to energetic and powerful to infectious – this piece will shatter your audience’s expectations of what is possible and take your band to a whole new level. Duration: 7:00 Price: $123.00
In this composition, Godspeed, John Glenn, the composer draws on all aspects of Glenn’s life. The piece is not programmatic in nature, but is instead an impression of the many complex facets of his makeup. While there are cinematic moments reflecting the adventure of Glenn’s life, the piece remains grounded in his humility; partnership with his wife; and steadfast love and commitment to his family, his country, and his faith. The piece begins very distantly with an extensive trumpet solo. This solo is taken up by the trombone and played in echo briefly by the trumpet until the two voices find each other. The music continues into a playful modal section reminiscent of Glenn’s small town roots and fascination with flight. Just after lift-off, the piece dissolves into a reverent anthem that attempts to embody the essence of his spirit. This anthem serves as the primary melodic material through various keys and triumphant treatments climaxing in a quote of the hymn Be Still My Soul. Duration: 12:32 Price: $116.95
