Energy consumption is very Energy consumption is low - but improving
(Some) Opportunites & Challenges
• Pakistan has a high population density and strong birthrates
• Pakistan has a low agricultural productivity
• Pakistan has few water reserves and uses mostly inefficient
irrigation systems
• Current Education and Hygiene standards are low
BUT
• Stable Economic growth > 5%
• Pakistan’s electricity supply has improved a lot since 2014
• Transport infrastructure is improving
• Full functioning bureaucracy

Project Size 600 kWp PV / 300 kW Biogas at two Locations
Location Punjab Region, Pakistan
Project Scope This project proposes installation of a solar biogas / biomass hybrid power plants in the villages to provide uninterrupted electricity to the villages 24/7. As the plant will be connected to the 11 kV grid, the electricity produced will be directly transmitted to the grid. However, during load shedding, the plant can run in an island mode. Therefore, the villages will have access to uninterrupted electricity supply. In addition the Biogas plants will provide gas for cooking.
