PROGRESS TO DATE Some key milestones in the early planning process have already been achieved such as; • Compleon of site Masterplanning and due diligence acvies in response to the 2012 Clinical Services Plan; • Compleon of funconal briefing user consultaon, which was undertaken in consultaon with a number of staff and senior clinicians, to idenfy individual departmental operaonal requirements. Upward of 120 user groups held; • Development of a concept plan and broader blocking and stacking strategy based upon the funconal briefing process; and • Compleon of a preliminary business case for the Stage 3 Redevelopment. As you are no doubt aware, the planning for a major redevelopment of Lismore Base Hospital has commenced. Following finalizaon of the Lismore Base Hospital Clinical Services Plan, Masterplanning acvies and feasibility studies are nearing compleon. These acvies will provide a robust base for future capital infrastructure investment at LBH over the coming years. The broad Stage 3 Redevelopment works is planned to take place over a number of phases with funding secured for the first phase (Stage 3a) from Federal and State governments in the order of $80.25M. The Stage 3a phase will include: • A new and significantly expanded Emergency Department • A new Emergency Medical Unit • A New Express Care Community Clinic • A New Renal Dialysis Unit • Improved Medical Imaging Capacity • Improved capacity to deliver Community / Primary Health Services Staff Update - October 2012 CONCEPT DESIGN
