NOS Education Programs reach over 1,000 students each month, extensively in Humboldt County, but also limited outreach in Pershing, Lander and Elko County.

AmeriCorps Program

NOS AmeriCorps members:•serve 10 week or 1 year terms, full or half-time •earn a small living stipend and an education award•full time members eligible for health care program•recruited both locally and nationally

• NOS provides over $150,000 of standards-based educational services to HCSD each year, free of charge.

• Over the past 3 years, NOS has put more than $1,000,000 in federal funds to work in northern Nevada.

• We provide the only science education for some rural classes.

• Full no-questions-asked scholarships available for every summer program with a fee.

• Total of 24 individuals on payroll this year including

AmeriCorps members at remote host sites.
