Very – I’m just here to pick up som e last m inute tips and learn m oreabout APHA!

Pretty confident – I haven’t done a lot of networking, but I lovem eeting new people.

OK – I’ve done som e in the past, but it really didn’t go anywhere. Sorta – I’ve done a litt le but I don’t feel com fortable yet. Not at all - and it sounds terrible!!!

I don’t event think networking is important - I’m in the wrong room!

“HOW TO NETWORK” ACCORDING TO APHA

1. Start the meeting off right: Attend “Navigate and Network” orientation

2. Be prepared!: business cards

3. Always wear your badge

4. Socialize digitally

5. Download the Mobile App :connect with attendees through the mobile app. If someone you know is attending but you don’t know how to reach them, check if their profile is listed!

6. Set goals

7. Ask meaningful questions

8. Continue networking after the meeting

• Prepare your “elevator speech” as it relates to your career goals

• Appear comfortable & confident!

• Understand that you may not “click” with each person you interact with at an event, just as in life.

• Always be courteous and polite.

• Understand yourself and comfort levels with networking; know how to comfortably remove yourself from a conversation

• Use your friends as connectors, but don’t kill conversations!
