Richmond Ford

Instead of traditional underground fiber optic cabling, a laser communications system was installed to extend a high-speed data connection to the show room across the street. The laser system was 1/3 the cost of a traditional fiber install, with no waiting for an installation work order (thus eliminating the permit process), and only caused their system to be offline for a few hours during the installation with 99.9% reliability. The Free Space Optical Laser technology required no spectrum licensing and is not subject to frequency interference.

We helped Richmond Ford meet its goals of having a secure, high speed, laser-based internet access, at one-third the cost, in less time and with up-time reliability of 99.9%.

Virginia Indigent Defense Commission

Six telephone systems were installed in the spring of 2006 in Halifax, Warrenton, Fredericksburg, Charlottesville, Richmond, and Staunton. Their existing phone system was moved to a new headquarters location in Richmond.

The total cost for the move, new hardware, wiring of 40 low voltage voice and data connections for the new phones, wiring for the move was under $75,000 – under their budget and above their expectations.

Virginia Home for Boys and Girls

Wheat Systems has received an annual contract for support and maintenance of data and telephony for the past ten years. An $82,000 project was completed in September 2005 to install fiber and copper cabling for data and voice connectivity on their entire campus – effectively connecting everyone on campus for less than originally budgeted.

Large Organization – Name Withheld for Confidentiality

A third party vendor crashed the system of a large organization in which all the data, over 12,000,000 records were lost late on a Friday afternoon. Wheat Systems was called in a panic to recover the lost data.

Our engineers worked day and night over the weekend and by Monday morning at the beginning of a new business week all the records had been recovered and new back-up system had been installed with no disruption in their operations.
