What is Network?

NetworkA computer network is a set of computers connected together for the purpose of sharing resources. The most common resource shared today is connection to the Internet. Other shared resources can include a printer or a file server.

TopologiesIn communication networks, a topology is a usually schematic description of the arrangement of a network, including its nodes and connecting lines. There are two ways of defining network geometry: the physical topology and the logical (or signal)topology.

Bus TopologyA bus network is a network topology in which nodes are directly connected to a common linear (or branched) half-duplex link called a bus.

Star TopologyA star topology is a topology for a Local Area Network (LAN) in which all nodes are individually connected to a central connection point, like a hub or a switch.

Ring TopologyA ring network is a network topology in which each node connects to exactly two other nodes, forming a single continuous pathway for signals through each node.

Tree TopologyA tree topology combines characteristics of linear bus and star topologies. It consists of groups of star-configured workstations connected to a linear bus backbone cable.Tree topologies allow for the expansion of an existing network

Cross CableAn Ethernet Crossover Cable is a type of Ethernet Cable which is use to connect two computing devices together directly. It is most often used to connect two devices of same type: e.g. two computers (via Network Interface Controller) or two switches to each other.

Transferring of Data (STAR)

• Open “Open Network and Sharing Center”.

• Click on “Change advance Sharing settings”.

• Change the setting as shown.

• Change the setting as shown.• Then click on “Save Changes”.
