Alcatel-Lucent OmniAccess access points are small, lightweight radios that can be securely deployed in a variety of locations such as walls, cubicles and desktops. Access point antenna diversity allows for the best possible coverage using dual and omni-directional antennas.
Alcatel-Lucent OmniAccess access points work with Alcatel-Lucent OmniAccess Wireless LAN (WLAN) switch/controllers providing a high performance wireless mobility solution for businesses of all sizes. Alcatel-Lucent OmniAccess access points automatically configure themselves across any L2/L3 network using discovery, allowing easy upgrades when new features, capabilities, or standards emerge giving them an extended life span.
Three access point types are available:
Dependent access points supporting multiple functions including wired and wireless access, air monitoring/wireless intrusion detection and prevention. These access points deliver secure user-centric network services and applications.
Remote access points installed at locations outside your corporate campus providing secure access back to your corporate LAN. Remote access points are ideal for small satellite offices and remote workers.
Independent access points virtualize the controller functions inside the access point creating an affordable entry-level wireless LAN without requiring a WLAN switch/controller.
