With the development of social networking technology over the past few years, it has created a shift in the web. The web is no longer used for “places to go” but it now (web 2.0) it is used for “things to do” [2]

It is one of the most commonly used features of “Web 2.0” [3]
It is an online personal journal which is frequently updated by the “blogger” and its contents consists of whatever the “blogger “, wishes to write about. [4]

Social networking sites help create and support communities of Internet users“members use the site to chat, message, email, upload and download photos and videos, blog, discuss and share information.” [7]

Social networking sites became popular because they made it easier to set up then a website and allow free flow of communication.› All for free
Provides more information on topics then the internet.› Information is gathered from different sites
rather than e.g. the company may be biased
Risks of Social Networking Sites
May give out to much information.
Young people may be vulnerable.
