They lose literacy skills that they work so hard to acquire during the school year and then play catch-up in the fall. You can help prevent summer learning loss. Please support your child’s participation in this summer learning endeavor. In order to prevent summer learning loss, we are sending home “Be A Super Hero, Read! Write!” Reading Log and Writing Journal. This packet is to be completed by Friday, September 2. They will be collected by your child’s teacher. Each child that completes the packet will be invited to a celebration in September. Each student will receive a literacy packet before the last day of school. If you need another copy, you may obtain one in the Main Office during the summer between 7:30 AM and 3:30 PM. Each student completing their Reading Log and Writing Journal will receive a prize for their hard work. A random drawing of one child per grade level will receive a Barnes & Noble gift card. We are hopeful you will encourage your child to complete the summer reading and writing activities. Have a safe, happy, and relaxing summer!
