StructureThe fluid of the psuedocoel and the

pressure of the cuticule work together as a hydrostatic skeleton. Nematodes

are also uniform in sturcture which makes them extremely hard to

classify.

They are:

Page 6: Nematodes

Body Symmetry•Cylindrical•Unsegmented•Bilaterally Symmetrical•Pseduocoelomate•With 4 openings

•Mouth•Anus•Vulva•Excretory Pore

Page 7: Nematodes

LocomotionNematodes move through contractions of the typically

longitudinally oriented muscles.

Page 8: Nematodes

Circulation

Nematodes don't have a circulatory system, fluids are dispersed into the

pesudocoelom.

Page 9: Nematodes

RespirationNematodes have no respritory system for the uptake or distribution of oxygen.

They use repirations by diffusion.

Page 10: Nematodes

ReproductionNematodes reproduce similarly to humans,

except males excreites his sperm through the anus.

And some nematodes have both male and female parts.

During mating the male inserts spiculas is inserted into the vagina of the female thus

forming a passageway for the sperm to travel.

FeedingThe feeding habits of Nematodes is very diverse depending on the type.

There are millions of different variations of Nematoda. In one handfull of soil there are thousands of variations.

Bacteria, Algee, Fungi, Plants, some Nematodes are even parasitic.

Nematoda Inhabitance

Represents 90% of all life on the sea floor

Page 13: Nematodes

DigestionNematodes have whats like a tube at

both ends of there body. food is digested in the gut but is not

distributed by any special vascular system.

Page 14: Nematodes

Excretion

Nutrients and wastes are distuibuted in the body cavity. Where the contents are regulated by an excritory canal along the

side of the body

Page 15: Nematodes

2 Main Casses •Adenophorea

•Phasmides absent

•Secernentea•Phasmides present posterior to the anus

*Other variations are present including glands, sensory organs, ect.

~Phasmide: Unicellular sensilla in the lateral tail region.
