� Kerala Government amended Neera Rules vide Order G.O.(P) No.27/2014/TD dated 14-02-2014.

� Out of 173 federations registered with CDB as on 2- 3-2014, 17 Federations were issued Neera production license on 2-3-2014 by the Hon’ble Chief Minister at Kottayam .

• If neera is processed, pasteurized and packed in sealed bottles in a processing plant, set up by a CPC, the federations shall coordinate their neeraprocessing with CPC.

• No Federations shall sell neera loose in retail shops without proper processing.

• All 12 CPCs submitted their Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) to Secretary (Agriculture), GOK during March 2014 for setting up integrated unit for processing of neera and its value added products.

• In order to set up a neera processing plant, Kerala Financial Corporation (KFC), Dhanalakshmi Bank, CanaraBank are willing to support.

• Kollam CPC and Karappuram CPC have availed loan from KFC for setting up neera processing plants.

• CDB has already approved 12 neeraprocessing plants under the central sector scheme “Technology Mission on Coconut” to the extent of 25% of the project cost as back ended capital subsidy limited a maximum ceiling of Rs.50.00 lakhs .

• Additionally the units may be supported by State Government under the State sector schemes.
