Nearpod | 5/9/16 @BVEdTec Nearpod Nearpod lets you create interactive presentations that can be viewed from a mobile device or computer. Teachers can add polls, videos, open ended questions and quizzes into their presentations. From a mobile device, a teacher can launch a presentation and students can access on their devices and answer the question prompts. Getting Started 1. Go to http://nearpod.com/ or open the app. • Teachers will need to create accounts. Students will not need an account. They will enter the pin provided by the teacher. 2. Enter in your account information. Create a Presentation 1. After logging into Nearpod, select the Create icon. • You will be redirected to Nearpod Content Tool on your brower when using the app (select Go). 2. Select New Presentation. 3. Title presentation by clicking on Untitled Presentation and renaming. 4. Select Add Slide. • You can also drag and drop files. • It is recommended to create a Powerpoint Presentation or Google Slides presentation and then import into Nearpod (see video tutorials Import Google Slides or Import PowerPoint Slides ). 5. Select Add Content or Add Activity to add interactive features to your presentation (Add Web Content is a premium feature). • Content: Slide, Video (Youtube videos will not play for ELE/MS Students), Slideshow, Audio. The following are premium features: Field Trip, PDF viewer, Live Twitter Stream. • Activity: Open ended question, poll, quiz, or Draw It. The following are premium features: Fill in the blank, Memory test. 6. After slides, content and activies have been added drag and drop to the slide order you prefer. 7. 1. AfterloggingintoNearpod,selectMyLibrary.
• Webversion:Select tocreatefoldersforyourlessons.
2. SelectapresentationfollowedbyLiveSession.• Webversion:Hoveroverthepresentationyouwishtolaunch
andselectLiveSession.Selectthe3dotsforadditionaloptions.
3. Ascreenwithapinwillshow.Thiscodewillneedtobesharedwith
yourstudentssotheycanjointhepresentation.• Pinwillchangeforeachsession.
4. Clicktheiconintheleftcornertoviewparticipants.
• Clickthe toshoworhidestudentnamesifdisplayingteacherdevicetostudents.
5. Studentswillseethesamescreenasyouscrollthroughtheslides.• Youhavefullcontrol.Studentscannotadvancethroughslides.
6. Usethebottomarrowtoscrollthroughpresentation.Clickonaslide
andselectshareforaudienceviewingontheirdevicesordraganddrop.Studentswillonlyseeafteryouselectshare.
7. Asstudentsrespondtoactivityquestions(polls,drawit,etc),onlythe
teacherwillseetheresponses.Selectastudentresponseorresultsfollowedbysharefortherestoftheaudiencetoview.
