When the new Beeston Bus and Tram Interchange opens to buses the old bus station will close at the same time. When trams open to the public through Beeston it will provide customers with a fully accessible interchange between tram and bus. This leaflet shows you where to catch trams (when services open to the public) and buses in the new interchange and also provides details of the other stops they will serve in the town centre. Staff will be available at the interchange during the first few weeks of operation to guide people to the right stop for their bus. To complement the new interchange, the County Council and the bus operators have agreed to introduce a Statutory Quality Bus Partnership (SQBP) in Beeston. This guarantees service standards for bus operators and for the quality of information and bus stop infrastructure across the town. The investment in the SQBP provides: • Low emission buses meeting EU environmental standards. • Upgraded bus stop shelters with lighting to improve comfort and security plus real time information displays to show when your bus is due to arrive. • Raised kerbs and bus stop clearways to help passengers getting on and off their bus. • Improved journey planning information in each shelter. • Citycard ticket machines to top up your card and speed your onward journey.
