WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?

Today the temperature of the earth is rising due to global

warming towards a huge destruction. This change in the

weather and climate is suitable for pest population ,as a

result it is rising rapidly. This is effecting our agriculture

severely .

For controlling them we are using chemical pesticides which

is affecting our ecosystem , ourselves, reason for bio

magnification , eutrophication.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

AIM : The aim of study is to observe the influence climatic

change on the growth of pests and to control them by efficient

use of biochemical pesticides

OBJECTIVES :

• To study the changes in the growth of pests with respect to

the climate.

• To study their control by chemical pesticides.

• To study the impact of these chemical pesticides.

• To study the control of pests by biochemical pesticides.

Page 7: Ncsc 2015

HYPOTHESIS

• The pest population is increasing due to some

change in weather and climate .

• We should control this pest population in a

efficient and ecofriendly way .

Page 8: Ncsc 2015

Advantages of chemical

pesticides

Disadvantages of chemical

pesticides

Effect very fast . Disturb the pH of the soil .

Required in less amount . Is the reason for bio magnification .

Is the reason for eutrophication .

Many a times some residue is left

which is dangerous for us

GENERAL PESTS IN

OUR LOCALITYI. White grub(Holotricha consaguinea ) it is a polyphagous .

II. Red hairy caterpillar (Amsecta moori ) it is a polyphagous .

III. Termite ( Odontotenmes obesus ) it is a polyphagous.

IV. Rice stem borrer ( Chilo suppressialis) it is a rice pest .

V. Gram pod borrer (Helicoverpa armigeru ) it is an important pest

which attack on cereal crops like ,gram fibre crops and

horticulture .

VI. Pink boll worms (Pechiriphoru gossypiella ) it is a cotton pest

VII. Paddy grasshopper( Hierogly phus banian )

EXPERIMENT-1(BIOCHEMICAL

PESTICIDE –NEEM OIL)AIM ; To see the effectiveness of neem extract as a potential pesticide

.

MATERIALS REQUIRED :

• Some pests in the field

• Neem extract

• Soap solution

• Sprayer

PROCEDURE :

• Put some neem extract in the sprayer and use it as a pesticides .

RESULT

Biochemical pesticides like neem extract , eucalyptus oil and orange citrus

powder are very efficient and can be used as biochemical pesticides..

Page 18: Ncsc 2015

SOLUTION

According to the data collected from internet , experiments and

survey conducted biochemical pesticides are best suitable

replacement for these chemical pesticides .

These doesn’t have any negative effect on the environment .

Easy to access and can be made at home .

Page 19: Ncsc 2015

CONCLUSIONS More temperature and rainfall brings an increase in the pest

population which are being controlled with the help of chemical

pesticides.

chemical pesticides are not good for our environment , but we can not

leave the pests as they are affecting our crop production.

Therefore, as the data suggests biochemical pesticides can be used as

a replacement for the chemical pesticides , which are environment

friendly.

Page 21: Ncsc 2015

FUTURE PLANWe are planning to spread awareness about the negative

impact of the chemical pesticides and the efficiency of the

biochemical pesticides and prevention of pest attacks on the

crop grown by the farmers of our locality. We want do

implement this in our locality then the state and finally in the

whole country .
