NCMA James T. Dorman Distinguished Service Award Winners The first Distinguished Service Award was presented to James T. Dorman in 1981 at the annual convention held in Goldsboro. Mr. Dorman served the Association in many ways for many years. He was Mover of the Year in 1964. Mr. Dorman was President of the Association in 1965, after working his way up through the officer’s ranks. He also served as Secretary to the Association until 1980 and was also publisher and editor of The Tar Heel Van. The Distinguished Service Award was renamed in 1987 to honor Mr. Dorman. DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD In 1987, the “Distinguished Service Award” was changed to the “James T. Dorman Distinguished Service Award.” 1981 James T.
