Stay warm with propane!

Why are more folks in North Carolina choosing propane? To stay warm!

Remember last winter? Temperatures in February fell to record, bone-chilling lows, and people who relied on electric heat pumps had a lot to shiver about. When Carolina temperatures drop below freezing — not to mention the single digits — it’s difficult for these traditional electric heat pumps to keep room temperatures above 60 degrees.

If this happened to you, talk to your propane dealer about keeping your home warmer next winter. They can either recommend:

➠ A hybrid heating system — a propane furnace “backs up” a heat pump when temperatures get too cold.

➠ A gas pack — a propane furnace and a/c condenser are housed together in a single unit outside the home and connected to the ductwork.

➠ A hydro-air system — this merges a propane boiler with the indoor air handler to circulate warm air through your ducts. (No expensive piping needed!)

With all the propane rebates available, it makes more sense than ever!

BIG savings on propane appliances! What do you need?

4 A propane furnace to keep your home warm? (Save $300!)

4 A propane tankless water heater to guarantee you hot water whenever you want it? (Save another $300!)

4 A propane generator to keep your power on during a storm-related electrical outage? (Save $100!)

These and many other propane appliances can all be installed at great savings right now, thanks to generous state and manufacturer rebates that can save you hundreds of dollars.

Which water heater is right

for you?

The Department of Energy estimates that approximately 20 percent of a home’s

energy costs are spent heating water. That’s why selecting an efficient water heater is critical — and propane fuels some of the most efficient water heating technologies available.

As a result, you can significantly reduce your energy costs when you choose an efficient propane water heating system over a standard electric water heater — sometimes by as much as 50%!

To make it easier for you to make the right choice, your propane company

has teamed up with the North Carolina Propane Education and Research Foundation to create a new website: PropaneNorthCarolina.com

Go there today and you’ll be able to use an interactive tool that determines how much hot water you need. This will help you find the perfect propane water heater for you and your family. Make sure you visit the Rebates & Coupons page to save money on your purchase! And read what your fellow North Carolinians are saying about their new propane water heaters.

Get started on enjoying better water efficiency and endless showers today!

If you have a funny or clever caption you want to share, enter our contest on Facebook or on our website and you could win!

Everyone who sends in a caption will be entered in a grand prize drawing for 100 gallons of propane. We will pick one name at random. Plus, the person whose caption gets the most likes will be awarded a $25 Amazon gift card.

We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Caption this photo and you could WIN 100 gallons of propane!

4 ways to save on heat this winter

1. Distribute heat evenly in rooms by running a

ceiling fan in reverse. By recirculating the warm air trapped near the ceiling, you can lower your thermostat.

2. Start using a wireless remote thermostat — this transmits signals to a central receiver, which replaces your old wall thermostat. These thermostats can be used anywhere in your home, similar to the way a TV remote works. When programmed correctly, these thermostats can reduce fuel usage by about 10%.

3. Convert your wood fireplace to propane. Gas fireplaces can produce twice as much heat as wood-burning fireplaces at about a third of the cost.

4. Use vent-free gas fireplaces to warm cold spots anywhere in your home — a less expensive and safer alternative to electric space heaters.

Congratulations to Claire Smith of Walstonburg. She won the Rinnai tankless water heater

from our last contest!
