  16. 16. What positives have we witnessed?- increased creativity - increased engagement - increased collaboration - increased independence - mobile learning opportunities - individualised learning opportunities - greater personalisation & ownership - differentiation of content delivery - 24/7 access to learningresources, tasks, tools, etc.. - networked learning between home and school - the publishing of work for greater audiences - the effective use of social media to benefit
  17. 17. And what challenges? - damaged devices, both BYOD and College owned - inappropriate device misuse - classroom management in a 1:1 environment - best practice/s? - costs for repair / replacement; to both College and families - ongoing effective integration - the development of a whole college eLearning culture - audio visual equipment allocation and use - lack of devices in specific areas/cohorts
  18. 18. Access to technology in schools - DEECD Past FuturePresent School network based/low bandwidth. Specific software provided by schools. Learning Management Systems. eduSTAR/School Based Software/Open Source. Wireless Connectivity. Cloud Based Computing. High Speed Broadband Access. On Demand access to software via App Store to support learning. Any device which meets minmum specifications (hardware/software/conne ctivity). Ubiquitous universal access across multiple personal devices and school based specialists technology. Standard portable student device 1:1 access. Eg. netbook/notebook program. Computer labs (PC/Mac) Range of devices (netbook/tablet/laptop/sma rtphone) Class Sets / COWS Adapted from the Planning and Sustaining Access to Technology Document, DEECD, 2014 - https://fuse.education.vic.gov.au/digipubs/Sustaining%20a%201to1%20Program%20in%20a%20School/Home.aspx
