Provisioning BYOD BYOD
16. What positives have we witnessed?- increased creativity -
increased engagement - increased collaboration - increased
independence - mobile learning opportunities - individualised
learning opportunities - greater personalisation & ownership -
differentiation of content delivery - 24/7 access to
learningresources, tasks, tools, etc.. - networked learning between
home and school - the publishing of work for greater audiences -
the effective use of social media to benefit
17. And what challenges? - damaged devices, both BYOD and
College owned - inappropriate device misuse - classroom management
in a 1:1 environment - best practice/s? - costs for repair /
replacement; to both College and families - ongoing effective
integration - the development of a whole college eLearning culture
- audio visual equipment allocation and use - lack of devices in
specific areas/cohorts
18. Access to technology in schools - DEECD Past FuturePresent
School network based/low bandwidth. Specific software provided by
schools. Learning Management Systems. eduSTAR/School Based
Software/Open Source. Wireless Connectivity. Cloud Based Computing.
High Speed Broadband Access. On Demand access to software via App
Store to support learning. Any device which meets minmum
specifications (hardware/software/conne ctivity). Ubiquitous
universal access across multiple personal devices and school based
specialists technology. Standard portable student device 1:1
access. Eg. netbook/notebook program. Computer labs (PC/Mac) Range
of devices (netbook/tablet/laptop/sma rtphone) Class Sets / COWS

22. Strategy Development Focus Questions What technology are we
wanting our students to have access to, in all year levels? iPads,
MacBooks, Lenovos, Netbooks, iMacs, iPods, Smartphones,
Chromebooks, etc Which model of technology integration will best
suit our Colleges needs and wants? And in what cohorts? College
Owned, BYOD, Co-Contribution? 1:1 Programs College Wide? Labs? How
will the technology available be used to re-shape and enhance
teaching and learning practices? What should be the foci of
embedding the technology? Effective integration, coding,
programming, STEM, multimedia, etc
23. The BIG question At the conclusion of 2018, what skills,
tools and devices do we want our students to have
