WORKING DESCRIPTION
MANUAL AQUA SIGNAL CONTROLTo switch, monitor and fuse navigation and signaling lights (merchant ships)
DescriptionThe purpose of the panel is to switch, monitor and fuse navigation and signaling lights. It consists of a front plate with the switches and indicator elements and a casing fitted to the front plate. Inside the casing there is the internal voltage processor, the fault detector card and the measuring converter. The light circuits are fed via serial terminals. The terminals are continuously numbered. The connecting scheme can seen from the individual supplied terminal plan.
Detector unit The supervision of the light is being done by indirect measurement of the lamp current. There is no electrical connection between the lamp circuit and the detector unit. There is no voltage drop in the lamp circuit.
With the light switched on, proper functioning of the circuit is monitoring by a red LED next to the light’s switch and another one in light’s true colour located in the mimic. The brightness of the LEDs can be dimmed, but not down to zero.
Minimum current to be monitored: 280mA AC / DC. In case of lamp circuit being interrupted (defective lamp, cable cut, bulb blown) this is being monitored with a delay of 12 seconds by LEDs starting to flash with beeper sounding synchronously.
Master switch On / Off switch or Change-over switch (to change two identical, separate supplies, extra)
Frontplate colour Mat black anodized or as per special wish (extra).
Alarm re-set Pressing the push button >>re-sets<< silences the audible alarm. In case of another circuit failing or a defective lamp being switched on again the audible alarm is re-activated. The visible alarm keeps on working until the fault is repaired or the defective circuit being switched off.
Alarm testPressing the test key makes all LEDs light up and the beeper sound. The beeper may be stopped by pressing the alarm re-set button, too.
Input Voltage monitoringThis system is an optional extra and enquiries the availability of the lamp voltage at the input terminal in front of the master switch and monitors proper availability by a green LED. In case of failure of one lamp circuit supply the LED will be flashing. Additional there will be a synchronous sound signal.

Change of print cards First of all put the master switch on the front plate in >>0<< position. After removing the rear cover the print cards are accessible and be removed. They cannot be mixed when plugging them back in again.
Electrical connection The terminal plan supplied with each panel indicates the sequence in which the monitored lights have to be connected, also which terminals have been selected to feed the light circuits and the panel itself.
Emergency operation in case of supply breakdown (Extra) Supply monitoring may either be fed from ship’s 24 V battery set or from a 12 V 0.5 Ah NiCd battery incorporated in the monitor panel (extra). The NiCd battery feeds the supply monitoring for about 8 hours.

DIMENSION AND MOUNTING DETAILS
Mechanical fit The Panel requires an aperture of :
Type 3425201 width 190mm height 205 mm
The casing is rigidly fitted to the front plate (two screws). After having the casing properly located and fitted the front plate (four screws) the mechanical installation is finished.
