-Included myself on slide 1 -Added Slide 2 Fixed slide 3 (Acquire and Prepare were swapped -- aligned to the wrong organizations) — good CATCH! Not sure what to do with Slide 4 yet – it’s clumsy — I’d delete. -Will slide 12 be updated by 11 Dec? Or should I state verbally that we are currently updating our Technology Focus Areas? -Slide 14: the 1 military in NCR – is that the AWC billet in Pax River, or is there another military billet I wasn’t aware of. I have assumed oversight of this CPO (though it’s been gapped for about a year now) -I have moved all the Dept slides to backup -Will you please get me some more information about IWRP? I assume that will be a topic of questions -Similar for Engagements with Industry and Academia – I assume I will mostly be asked about how local businesses can get work, or how they can pitch new development products to us.

Department of Defense The Department of Defense is headed by a civilian, the Secretary of Defense, who is appointed by the President of the United States and approved by the Senate. Under the Secretary of Defense, there are three military departments: The Department of the Army, the Department of the Air Force, and the Department of the Navy. Each of these military departments is also headed up by a civilian service secretary, who are also appointed by the president. There are five military branches: The Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. The Army is commanded by a four-star general, known as the Army Chief of Staff. The top military member in the Air Force is the Air Force Chief of Staff. The Navy is commanded by a four-star admiral, called the Chief of Naval Operations. The Marines are commanded by a 4-star general called the Commandant of the Marine Corps. While the chiefs of staff of the Army and Air Force report to their respective cabinet secretaries for most matters, both the Chief of Naval Operations and the Marine Corps Commandant report (for most matters) to the Secretary of the Navy. So yes, the Marine Corps is technically part of the Navy. Joint Chiefs of Staff https://www.secnav.navy.mil/rda/Pages/ASNRDAOrgChart.aspx ASN (RDA) Organization Structure: The ASN(RD&A) organization is responsible for the development and acquisition of Navy and Marine Corps platforms and weapon systems. The organization consists of an immediate staff to the Assistant Secretary, Program Executive Officers (PEOs), Direct Reporting Program Managers (DRPMs) and the Naval Systems Commands and their field activities. The PEOs and DRPMs are responsible for the development and acquisition of Naval systems. The Naval Systems Commands and their field activities are also responsible for systems acquisition and supporting those systems in the operating Fleet.
