RESPONSIBILITIES YOU WILL BE ENTRUSTED WITH - Act as the person responsible for analyzing the plans, drawings and diagrams used for shipbuilding and naval repair projects - Coordinate the engineering activities that have been subcontracted in order to achieve the objectives - Participate in discussion with equipment suppliers to ensure compliance with the requirements on the projects - Collaborate with regulatory entities to ensure design compliance with regulations

A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF WHAT TO EXPECT The incumbent will be closely involved in the design, modeling and execution of design and

manufacturing drawings as part of various ship and barge building and repair projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES YOU WILL BE ENTRUSTED WITH

- Act as the person responsible for analyzing the plans, drawings and diagrams used for

shipbuilding and naval repair projects

- Coordinate the engineering activities that have been subcontracted in order to achieve the

objectives

- Participate in discussion with equipment suppliers to ensure compliance with the requirements

on the projects

- Collaborate with regulatory entities to ensure design compliance with regulations

- Using software, produce cutting and assembly plans, structural and piping drawings as well as

3D models for the ships to be built

- Take measurements for the parts needed on barges and ships and draw up material lists

- Consult with operational personnel during the manufacturing or repair phase in order to

identify adjustments or corrections to be made to plans

- Design adjustments to ships to allow for the installation of new components (e.g.: engines,

generators, transmissions)

- Participate in propulsion equipment integration on ships

PROFILE SOUGHT

- Diploma in Naval Architecture

- Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in similar positions

- Relevant experience in the field of ship design, building and repair

- Knowledge of Office Suite software

- Command of design software such as Autocad, Shipconstructor, Solidwork or Inventor

- Independent, reliable and meticulous

- Teamwork skills

- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

- Availability for trips to different work sites

- Advanced knowledge of French, both spoken and written

- Advanced knowledge of English, both spoken and written (asset)
