In reecting back on my two pregnancies, I have to say therewere some things that I wish I would have known. ough Idont know with certainty that it would have changed things

or me, it defnitely would have or my two unborn babies. Wantingto bring a healthy, happy baby into this world defnitely was alwaysmy ocus. We have to keep in mind that lie happens and were not

always ortunate enough to live the perect, stress-ree, healthy liethat we want or our babies.

For mysel, remembering that whatever I ate or drank, mybabies were eating and drinking also, was important. It goeswithout saying that any medications you take, drugs or smokingare also shared with your baby. What I didnt realize at the timewas how your baby seriously is born into a world with a palletsimilar to what he or she was ed in the womb. For my son, Logan,I ate primarily meat, potatoes and vegetables, and to this day hestill craves the same oods at the age o 16. With my daughter andsecond child, Alix, I was more into the carbohydrates and sugars. So guess what? She is now and always has been my carb queen a diet I dont wish or any woman, particularly i youre trying tokeep weight o.

As or alcohol consumption, a sip o wine once in a while maynot endanger your baby; however, you need to try as much aspossible to avoid alcoholic drinks during the gestation period.is is because the quantity o alcohol that will harm your devel-oping etus is not really known.

Pregnancy is usually one o the most memorable stages in awomans lie, given that she is carrying another lie inside o her.Pregnancy is also one o the most challenging phases in a womans

lie. For me, the added weight with my second child, versufrst, was very dicult to deal with. Particularly when most o time is consumed with the children constantly needing you birth, fnding time and energy to exercise becomes all too exhing, more times than not.

Taking my prenatal vitamins prior to bed was somethingI learned in a hurry, so I could sleep through the horrible tasthem. Otherwise, they upset my stomach when ingested duthe daytime, particularly i I drank a lot o water. Just as avoigestational diabetes during pregnancy is defnitely a must, sotaking prenatal vitamins and eating healthy.

Gestational diabetes is high blood sugar that starts or is diagnosed during pregnancy. Usually there are no symptomthe symptoms are mild and not lie threatening or a pregwoman. e blood sugar or glucose level usually returns to noaer delivery.

Exercise was always something that I had done prior topregnancies; however, increasing exercise with my frst pregnwas defnitely not a good choice. I remember taking on a liegcertifcation course in my frst trimester, which honestly wasa very bright thing to do, as it just added additional stress to

e best book that I read while pregnant was What To ExpectWhen Youre Expecting, written by Heidi Murko and SharonMazel, which now is in its ourth edition. What an amazing step-by-step pregnancy guide to have when expecting your frst child.

As with anything else, this defnitely is a new and excitingchapter in your lie. The medical term or itching is pruritus. Muller and KirksSmall Animal Dermatology text describes this as anunpleasant sensation that provokes the desire to scratch

e skin is richly endowed by a network o sensory nerves and

receptors e itch sensation may be modifed by emotionalactors and competing cutaneous sensations a host o chemicalmediators have been implicated Anxiety, boredom or compet-ing cutaneous sensations (e.g., pain, touch, heat and cold) canmagniy or reduce the sensation For example, pruritus is oenworse at night because other sensory input is low Stressulconditions may potentiate pruritus through the release o variousopioid peptides.

Kirks Current Veterinary erapy XIII lists allergies, vaccines, numerous drugs, shampoos, dips and sprays as common productsassociated with pruritus, specifcally, rabies, distemper and antibi-otic injections are mentioned.

One thing is or sure, allergies are complicated and multicausal.Rarely is an allergic individual only allergic to one thing. Everybodyhas an allergic threshold, above which allergic symptoms maniest.

Allergy testing measures hypersensitivity responses to grasses, weeds, molds, eas, dust mites and even human epidermis. (Yes,some pets are allergic to their guardians!) ese tests cannotmeasure all allergens and they do not measure the cumulativeeect o multiple allergens on an individuals immune system.

Food allergy testing is oen inaccurate and inconclusive, butsurely some ingredients do cause some pets to scratch!

Snoopy is a bichon rise whose story exemplifes the importo recognizing allergy triggers and how managing allergies healthy way can lead to a long, quality lie.

Snoopy presented at three years o age or euthanasia du

season, Snoopy is bathed more requently with a detox soak and,i necessary, is treated orally with an herbal blend o nettle andlicorice. Once used or nervousness, a Chinese herbal called ShenCalmer is no longer needed. Snoopy never receives spot-on eaand tick preventatives.

Most importantly, Snoopy is never re-vaccinated. Vaccinemanuacturer inserts state, Vaccinate only healthy animals.A pet with chronic allergies certainly is not healthy. Also petswho are undergoing allergy treatment with steroids are immunesuppressed and cannot respond properly to vaccines. Dont over-burden a ailing immune system o an allergic pet by giving anunnecessary or perhaps detrimental vaccine. Did you know that itis legal or a veterinarian in Wisconsin to issue a rabies waiver or

an unhealthy pet?Dont expect to cure allergies. Suppressing symptoms is not

curing allergies. Eliminating triggers is not curing allergies. However, these approaches, and supporting the immune system toenable it to process allergens appropriately, can certainly decreasethe requency and severity o allergic episodes.

Strive to use treatments that do not have serious side eects.Avoid excessive antibiotics, antihistamines and steroids. Knowwhat the medication is that your pet is receiving. Google it!

Give the body the tools it needs to heal itsel. Feed resh, speciesappropriate oods. Mimic nature the best you can when makingdiet and treat choices or your pet. Did you know that it can takethree months or a ood allergen to leave the body? Rememberthat the next time the nice lady at the bank drive-up gives yourdog a biscuit flled with wheat, soy, dye and artifcial preservatives.

So, i your pet starts scratching shortly aer his spring visit tothe vet, is it due to the vaccine, the treat he was given, the spot-onpesticide, the ood component o the chewable heartworm pill, hisanxiety or the grass outside?

Dont push your pets immune tolerance over the threshold.Manage his medical care, ood and environment in a naturallysensible way so that he can handle smelling the owers!

Question: Well, its that time o year again. Any advice on stick-ing to my New Years resolutions now that we are several monthsinto 2012?Answer: To be honest with you, I dont really like the whole resolu-tion approach at all. Wasnt it Einstein that said doing the same thingover and over again and expecting dierent results is a sure sign oinsanity? I thats true, I fnd it ironic that people set similar goals yearaer year, and yet ail to reach those goals year aer year. Its clear youwant to make some changes thats what resolutions are all about but it sounds like its your mindset that needs to change. You have to

determine how committed you are to living a liestyle o health. Aerall, it takes dedication and hard work to exercise consistently, makehealthy ood choices most o the time and get adequate sleep eachnight. And these are just some o the behaviors that defne wellness. But heres the thing when you decide that revamping your liestyleis more important than reaching some short-term goal or 2012, NewYears resolutions will become a thing o the past!

Question: Id love to run a 5K with some riends this spring, butI am not active at all right now. How should I go about training orsomething like this?Answer: is is a great question! ere are actually several planson the Internet that can take you rom the couch to the 5K coursein as little as 8-10 weeks. In act, you can even use one o theseplans i you have no intention o running a 5K, but simply wantto start incorporating ftness (running) into your liestyle. Mosto the plans start with combination walk/jog/walk session, 3 daysper week, steadily increasing the actual jog time rom just 2 or 3minutes to about 10 minutes by weeks 4 or 5. At this point, youalso start to add an extra day o training, totaling 4 sessions eachweek. As you continue to increase your jog time, you graduallyremove the walking warm-up, thereby fnishing each workout

with just a basic walking cool-down. By the time you get tweeks, you should be able to run consistently or 25-30 minwithout stopping. Not bad or a ormer couch potato, huha Google search or couch-to-5K training programs or checkwww.halhigdon.com or more inormation. Good luck!

Question: Im looking to add some serious muscle massIm curious about the engineered weight gainers out onmarket. In other words, do you think weight gainers shoulused to gain weight?

Answer: Weight gainer supplements can have a place when it coto adding muscle, but heres my general philosophy on the matter.o all, we know calories are o prime importance i gaining wis the goal. We also know that some people simply cant eat enoto gain the type o weight that theyd like to. is means that li

calories become pretty important becliquids obviously arent quite as flling as

oods. But my personal preerence would be to cmy own weight gainer smoothies with real oodsruits, yogurt, protein powders, oats, milk and things like peanut butter, rozen yogurt and a litto chocolate. en, you can combine these beverwith some hearty meals, and youll be on your waybigger you in no time. I youve ound a particular w

gainer supplement that you happen to like, and you can aord it,you can certainly go that route, too. I just happen to be a ood kind o gal, and Ive always ound my smoothies and shakes m

palatable than what is on the market. In the end, do you think is best, and dont orget to train or weightas well.

Summer is almost here, which means lots o un in the sun,and undoubtedly along with that bare arms and legs. isyear, when you frst break out your avorite go-to summer

shorts or tank, you may fnd your poor skin in need a little post-winter rehab. is year, I encourage you to incorporate organicsugar scrub into your daily or weekly beauty regime or abulous, healthy, glowing, ready-or-summer skin.

Sometimes using soap alone to cleanse skin is not enough toremove excess oil, impurities or dead skin cells. is is where anorganic sugar scrub can be extremely benefcial. Sugar scrubs

are good or all skin types and will help to exoliate, clean skinssurace, unclog pores, turnover cells and even minimize ingrownhairs. It can also help you get THE closest leg shave that you haveever experienced leaving legs oh-so-silky smooth.

Today there is a wide variety o organic sugar scrubs on themarket, or you can make your own. While sugar scrub in generalis good or all skin types, confrm when purchasing or making anyscrub that the oil base such as rice bran, olive or grapeseed iscomplimentary to your specifc skin type. Most importantly, makesure that the sugar included is organic.

Organic sugar is not refned as heavily as conventional sugar, and asa result, may contain more o the vitamins and enzymes that existedin the natural sugar cane plant. One o the most amazing propertiesound in an organic sugar is glycolic acid. is natural alpha hydroxyacid is used in many anti-aging and beautiying skin treatments orits ability to improve the skins appearance and texture. Glycolic acidis believed to help reduce wrinkles, scarring and even hyperpigmen-tation. It also protects against toxins and helps to exoliate the skin, weakening the binding properties o lipids that hold dead skin cellstogether, exposing resh and healthy live skin cells.

When you regularly exoliate your skin with a sugar scrub, youllquickly fnd your skin becoming healthier in appearance and

unction. Aer dead skin has been exoliated, your bodys laorgan is enabled to work more eciently expelling toxinstaking in nutrients. Regular use o organic sugar scrub canhelp to combat ingrown hairs that may pop up on your armsor elsewhere on the body. By removing dead skin cells and helthe skin to become more moisturized and pliable, hairs can measily release and point back out o the skin.

For the best results, use a sugar scrub on legs while takishower. Aer rinsing the skin with a cleansing body washscrub to exoliating and condition the body. Spend a minu

two massaging the scrub on your skin, paying careul attento dry areas like elbows and knees. Rinse the scrub, and with o your dead skins cells and dirt will be removed. I shaving, shave legs as you normally would. e oil base will help to lucate the razor leaving your legs looking and eeling amazirereshed and healthy.

Try a scrub with a ragrance and herbal additions or an more enjoyable experience. At Oliv 426, our customers likbuild custom scrubs starting with an organic sugar base, and selecting their choice o oil, ragrance and herbal blend or ational skin nurturing benefts. Try ragrant essential oils suctea tree oil, known or its antiseptic properties to prevent or o ingrown hairs, or lavender oil, known to fght inammaand redness, and herbs like heather or lavender, or detoxiand balancing benefts.

My frst encounter with a homebirth mama and her5-month-old son was during an Options in Child-birth class at the Mom and Pop Place in Neenah, Wis.

Sure, Ive seen the documentaries like e Business o Being Bornand What Babies Want, so Ive gotten some pretty great images othe process. But I had yet to see theend result the relationships o theamily until now. ey were themost bewitching pair I have ever seen

and not necessarily because o physi-cal attributes, though they were quitecute. It was the love they had or eachother. I could see their connectionas clear as day. So in tune with eachother, they perormed this amazingdance o bonding, breasteeding, sleeping and playing and I observedthis in a span o only 2 hours.

is baby was so very alert andhappy, smiling at everyone in theroom individually as i to say, is is what you can have i youchoose natural childbirth. is is the reward. A baby like me whohas absolutely no doubt that he is wanted and loved and came intothis world KNOWING that.

He was born gently with love into an inviting place his ownhome. His mom held him resh without cleaning him o frst. Hewasnt whisked away or a vaccine or to get ointment smeared intohis eyes. is mother and child were allowed to do what natureintended them to do bond, oat away on the euphoria o eachothers scents, all in love and nourish one another. Nothing elsewas necessary.

Since then, Ive met sevmore homebirth mama/baby pomasa, a local natural parent

the Hep B vaccination to be given, he gave me a lecture that wouldmake even a person that had not just given birth and had crazyhormone issues cry.

When I asked omasa what shed like every mom to knowabout choosing a childbirth method, this is what she said.

I would tell a mom that she just needs to listen to her gut. Ihaving her baby in the comort o her own home eels right to herthen she should go with that. Society has many women believingthat the only sae place to have a baby is in the hospital. Grantedthey have their place, but we were giving birth long beore hospitalsever existed. When women go into a hospital to deliver without aclear birth plan they can be more easily lead down the path o whatis best or the doctor and the hospital over what is best or themom and the baby. Homebirths are totally ocused on mom andthe baby, the way it should be.

Our society has come to rely heavily on the hospital and less onthe woman who is having the baby. e act is women knowhow to give birth. It is instinctual and it is intimate. I a birth expe-

rience ends up being scary or bewildering or either mom or baby, the trauma can indeed remain. Many women choose homebirthbecause theyve had a hospital birth and elt it lacked the love andwarmth that should come with childbirth. Many women eel thereis no way they could give birth outside the sae harbor o a hospital. It is your choice to make. My intent in writing this article is notto convince every pregnant woman to have a homebirth. Instead

    Many women

CONFUCIUS ONCE SAID, LIFE IS REALLY SIMPLE, BUT WE

INSIST ON MAKING IT COMPLICATED. Renee Waters, ND

whole-heartedly agrees, especially when it comes to our

health. As the Fond du Lac naturopath behind The Country

Doctor since 1984, she has spent the last 28 years endorsing

the value o natural, simple living. She preaches the importance o drinking pure water, breathing

resh air, exercise, eating an abundance o ruits and vegetables,

    supplementation when necessary, detoxifcation, expressing

emotions in a supportive way, nurturing a spiritual belie system

and taking care o and pampering the body with rest and body-

work when needed. Nothing complicated there.

This, in act, is the very ramework o naturopathy healing

will occur naturally in the human body i it is given what it truly

needs, as above. The emphasis is on helping the body estab-

lish its own state o good health, over just fnding disease and

killing it. (However, this is not to the total exclusion o allopathic

treatment. That has its place.) So, instead o just suppressing a

symptom, naturopathy looks to eliminate the original cause, sothe symptom doesnt return later in a chronic orm.

As a naturopath, Waters takes seriously her duty to ollow

the basic principles o the practice: do no harm; recognize the

healing power o nature; fnd and eliminate the cause; teach

health; honor the total person; and prevent disease.

An avid ollower o sel-help guru, Louise Hay, Waters has

learned the importance o taking care o the emotional part o

the body. There is an eect on the body i you dont nurture

your emotional sel, confrms Waters. It is not healthy to bury

your emotions. Holding in anger, resentment,

past hurts and such, will ultimately result

in physical implications, she adds. This

she has learned rom personal experi-ence. Ater years o holding in nega-

    tive emotions, Waters developed early

stage breast cancer, and has learned

the value o emotional release frsthand to relieve what

    eating at her emotionally.

It is not surprising in todays ast-aced, stressul world

people simply do not take the time to deal with inner tur

Meddi cupping, vacuum therapiesThis therapy utilizes glass or plastic cups and a vacuum pistol,

bulb or machine to create suction on the body surace. Dier-

the sot tissue or can work superfcially to pull inammation

With over 200 acres in produc-tion throughout Metro-Milwaukee, Growing Power is well on itsway to achieving this goal. In act, we have already served over40,000 Milwaukee Public School students a locally grown snackrom Growing Powers greenhouses. I have been ascinated with past lives since I went through a pastlie regression to understand unexplainable anxiety. I am curious.Do we have similar personalities in other lives? Is there anythingthat is the same about me lie aer lie?

    Lifetimes of Old

    Dear Lifetimes of Old,

Absolutely! Lets backtrack a little to understand energy and thesoul a bit better.

Pure spirit is oneness, the essence o love and instant commu-nication. As amazing as this is, spirit is limited when it comes togrowth and evolution. Why change i everything is grand? In orderto shi, our spirit acquired a soul set with a variety o intuitive gisuniquely placed to ulfll a purpose a spiritual vision. A soul cantravel and experience joys and traumas in order to learn and love. Each lesson helps shi the greater spirit toward a new stage.

Each time a soul travels, it experiences what we call a lietime. Inthe souls eyes, a lietime eels like a dream. When the soul sleeps

it experiences a lie. Sometimes the lives are similar, sometthey are completely dierent. Just like dreams, each lietimemessage. When the soul wakes up it may interpret the lietisymbolism in order to continue evolving just like we would inpret a dream to learn.

Going back to your question, there may be many parts othat are similar in each lietime, just like in a dream. Our travels with the same clique called a soul amily. Members oamily will experience lietimes together over and over againyou may eel like you know someone that youve never met. also may deal with similar issues in many lietimes, but the thing that absolutely remains constant is your intuitive gis. come directly rom your spirit and you always use those giulfll your spirit, soul and each particular lie purpose.

What is all the buzz about tapping? Let me tell you! Itis all about Emotional Freedom Technique, or EFT.Its origins lie in ancient Chinese medicine rom 5000

years ago and the development o acupuncture, a healing tech-nique that uses needles on areas on the energy meridians or thepath through which the lie-energy o our bodies ows. Acupunc-ture was not developed to treat emotional problems, but physi-

cal ones. EFT has also been named emotional acupuncture, ocourse, using a tapping technique instead o needles. It was devel-oped to heal emotional problems.

What practitioners o EFT have ound is that the emotionaland energetic releases brought about by EFT requently resultin proound physical healings. e Discovery Statement o EFTis that the cause o all negative emotions is a disruption in thebodys energy system. ere has been a great deal o medicalresearch done showing that stress causes chemical changes in thebrain, and these changes inuence the state o our physical well-being, as do unresolved emotional issues. More and more researchon EFT has shown its positive ecacy on emotional issues.

EFTs history is also based on Applied Kinesiology (which usesmuscle testing to determine the appropriateness o any orm otreatment), developed by Dr. George Goodheart. In the early1960s, he substituted simple manual pressure, or tapping, orneedles on acupuncture points and ound that he could obtain thesame benefcial results.

In the early 1970s, Dr. John Diamond, a psychiatrist, took Dr.Goodhearts work a step urther by developing Behavioral Kinesiol-ogy, which adds stating or thinking an armation (a positive state-ment) while at the same time manipulating acupuncture points.

In the early 1980s, Dr. Roger Callahan, who specialized in anand phobias, put tapping and ocusing on the problem hetrying to help his patients resolve together and that this technwould remove or lessen the ear causing the problem. His suwas so great that he started to use this technique on other emotissues. During his experimentations he ound that he used spesequences o acupoints or dierent emotional issues. He woul

Applied Kinesiology to determine the sequence needed on an vidualistic basis or each o his patients. He called these sequealgorithms. His method o treatment was known as e Chan Techniques and later named ought Field erapy, or another orm o tapping technique other than EFT.

In the later 1980s, Dr. Patricia Carrington, psychologist, and Craig, an engineer and personal perormance coach who stuunder Dr. Callahan tested Dr. Callahans techniques and ounda single algorithm method could be just as eective as the melaborate procedures o TFT. is single algorithm method ibasis o EFT and can be used or a myriad o problems ranging pain relie, anger, addictions, weight loss, anxiety, trauma, depsion, ears and phobias, allergies, respiratory problems, blood psure, school, sports and sexual perormance issues, serious dis(rom migraines to cancer), relationship issues, womens, menschildrens issues, to name a ew. In other words, or almost evthing. Gary Craig gave this method the name EFT. Dr. Carrinnamed her technique Acutap, but aer studying EFT she startonly use this method. In 2000, Dr. Carrington developed theChoices Method, which changes the process o EFT by adding

vidualized armations instead o the ones commonly used in Craigs method.

e almighty ea can not only be a realproblem or your dog or cat, but it can alsotake what seems like orever to get rid o including all the work to get them out othe house and bedding. Even with bombing

and a good ea comb, it can take weeks.Lyme disease can be a very painul inam-matory disease and, o course, the mosquitocan do a lot o damage carrying heartworm.

ere are drugs that can be given, andusually are supplied by your local vet, orsuch things as eas and ticks. Heartgardand Frontline would usually be the twosuggested. Some vets recommend they begiven 12 months a year. But, what many vetswont tell you is how many dogs outright dierom applications o Frontline and that theside eects rom Heartgard can be awul.

e main ingredient ound in Heartgard iscalled Ivermectin. Ivermectin is a prescribedmedication that is oen used to treat para-sites in dogs. It has also been used to treatear mites and as a heartworm preventive indogs. Ivermectin can cause allergic reactionsin some dogs. Symptoms can be wheez-ing, dicult breathing and swelling o lips, eyes and tongue. Symptoms o toxicity can

be vomiting, tremors, weakness, blindness, dilated pupils and lack o appetite. Other sideeects while taking the medication can bedizziness, ever, joint pain, rashes and more.Using ea control products at the same timemay even increase side eects.

e good news is, there are a ew wonderulproducts that can be used that are totally saeand will repel eas, ticks, ies and mosqui-toes. Neem sprays are o a natural nature, aretotally harmless and repel the worst o theinsects. Neem sprays can be sprayed on romweekly to about every two weeks to be sae. I

you are in an area that may be more inethey are sae to use more oen. Sae enoto use on yoursel! Please consider ua saer product that can be used as oeneeded with no side eects at all. Have aand pest-ree summer.

e basic recipe or EFT is: e Setup; e Sequence; 9 GamutProcedure; e Sequence (again); e Reminder Phrase; andAdjustments or Subsequent Rounds. Your energy system is a seto subtle electrical circuits and is subject to a orm o electricalintererence that can block the balancing eect o the tapping. Inthe Setup Phase, the blockage (called Psychological Reversal) mustbe removed or the rest o the technique to work. A neutralizingarmation is repeated three times while you rub your Sore Spotor tap on your Karate Chop point.

e Sequence is the exact order o where to tap on the end pointso the major energy meridians in the body and the method bywhich the energy block in the energy system is balanced out. Youtap with your fngertips o the index and middle fnger; tappingabout seven times on each point while repeating a reminderphrase. e points are the eyebrow, side o eye, under eye, undernose, chin, collarbone, under arm, below nipple, side o thumb, index fnger, middle fnger, baby fnger and karate chop. You alsorepeat your armation while tapping.

e 9 Gamut Procedure fne tunes the brain by using eye move-ments, counting and humming to stimulate the brain. rough

connecting nerves, certain parts o the brain are stimulated withthe eye movements. e creative side o the brain, the right side,is engaged when you hum, and the digital side o the brain, thele, is engaged when you count. Aer the 9 Gamut Procedure, yourepeat the sequence again.

e Reminder Phase is simply a word or short phrase thatdescribes the problem and is repeated out loud each time you tapone o the points in the Sequence. Subsequent Round Adjustmentsare done when only partial relie is achieved.

e technique o EFT seems to be very simple and can be usedby lay people and proessionals with their clients, but it is not to betaken lightly. Our emotions and particular problems have layersto them and each layer must be dealt with to resolve the problem.EFT can do this but it should only be done with someone that istrained and skillul. ere are not many side eects as this tech-nique is not invasive and Gary Craig reported that at one timewith over 100,000 people using the technique that under 1% hadcomplaints. ese were in the orm o eeling nauseous, eelingworse, crying or other orms o distress due to bringing up memo-ries that have been repressed. Some people can have these results

just thinking about their problem or reliving a trauma or stressulmemory so it is uncertain i EFT was the cause o the complaints.

I EFT is a technique that you want to use by yoursel, then gettraining. It is not advisable to go on the computer, get the stepsand do it. As a holistic psychotherapist, energy therapist and EFT

practitioner that studied under Gary Craig, I have seen situationswhere only a proessional who is trained in their feld and EFT willknow how to handle a person i they have abreactions due totheir serious illness or problem. e best policy to take is, Dontgo where you dont belong. Use common sense and do not try toalleviate ailments that are beyond your capacity or training.

patients o all ages, in convenient oces throughout thestate o Wisconsin.

Having numerous oce locations has two benefts or ourpatients, says board-certifed dermatologist, president andounder Dr. Kenneth Katz.

First, when a patient has an acute problem such as a bad rash, hives, boils or shingles, we are actually able to see that patient thesame day or the next day. We take a thorough, aggressive approachto treatment so we can bring relie as quickly as possible.

Second, this proximity and convenience approach to prac-tice location means most patients dont have to drive more than 20minutes to receive the most comprehensive array o services available.

High-quality care is only good i a patient can get to it, Dr. Katzpoints out. Our approach means patients can usually schedule non-urgent appointments in less than a week, and be seen promptly whenthey arrive or consultations and treatment.

In this practice, emphasizes Dr. Katz, both expertise andpersonality are important: Patients may not remember where adoctor was trained, but they will remember a doctor who treatsthem kindly. ats why we recruit our board-certifed dermatolo-gists rom all across the country, seeking excellent credentials andcompassionate, riendly people skills.
