SELEVENJ HEATHThis region has never been urbanised and

remains in tact as a beautiul wilderness area.

Spacious pastures stretch beyond the h orizon, casting long silhouettes o the odd manor or

    armstead.

Today this Pannonian heath type reserve covers

10 areas criss-crossed with orchards, felds and

vineyards and is primarily used or botanical

conservation. Protected species o orchid and

iris abound, while this is the only location in

Serbia where the Desert Soap Wart (Gypsophila

arenaria) grows. There are also living species

o international importance, such as sand

lizards, bats and rare birds nesting on the salty

    meadows
