NQIS/ELOT – Participation in IEC-CENELEC-ETSI
The ELOTs TCs are distributed in the following main sectors:• Electrotechnology• Communications –EMC/EMF• Information and Control Technology• Power Electronic Systems - Converters/Transformers- Safetyand Environmental aspectswith participation in more than 110 CENELEC TCs andapproximately 14 IEC TCs and observes the activities of morethan 90 IEC TCs.
A number of Greek experts are participating occasionally inthe meetings of CENELEC and IEC TCs as ELOT delegates.

NQIS/ELOT –Standardization activities in Telecommunications
•ELOT performs as NSO in ETSI the voting and the procedure of commenting of draft EN standards and• transposes and publishes as National standards the EN standards of ETSI.
National standardization ELOT with ad hoc WGsprepared and published ELOT 1422 related to thecollocation of mobile telecommunication antennasunder a funded contract signed with the Ministry.
Events In 2005 ELOT organized a special eventnamed “Quality in Telecommunications” and in 2006hosted an ETSI STQ meeting.
ΕLΟΤ is in cooperation with the Ministry and theNational Communication and Postal Committee(EETT) in order the planning and implementation oftelecommunication networks, services, productssupporting the Digital Market to be based amongothers upon standardization documents.
Some examples from the Greek RegulatoryFramework•Telecommunication networks outside buildings•Electronic communications inside the buildings•Radio Antennas collocation•Measurements of EMF produced by radio antennas

NQIS/ELOT – Standards and Regulation
The scope of the new TC “Electronic Communications” isthe standardization of the convergent networks, equipment and services of ICT with main interest to thefollowing topics:- quality, performance and security- electromagnetic compatibility of radio equipment- broadband networks- ICT for the management of transport and energy- emergency services- IoT, M2M (digitising of industry)- NFV, CLOUD
ELOT – National Standardization Body
NQIS/ELOT – New TC “Electronic Communications”
ELOT is asking for participation in the new TC frominterested parties coming from the:
• public sector ( ministries, authorities)• universities , research centers and• private sector (industry, SME )
The members of the TC will have early notification, right for submission of comments and justified votingof the draft standardization documents of ETSI andrelated TCs of IEC-CENELEC in the field of ICT such asIEC TC100 “Audio, video and multimedia systems andequipment”, ISO/IEC JTC1 “Information technology”.

Digitising of Industry
From industrial Ethernet and industrial wirelesscommunications to that of improved IT solutionsinvolving the union of conventional automation withcyber-physical systems combining ICT, data andphysical elements and the ability to connect devices toone another.
To make this possible, international consensus-basedstandards taking into account existing national andregional standards for industrial automation arerequired. A wider market with solid standards willsupport the interoperability necessary for theexpansion of replicable and more affordabletechnologies globally.
•On-demand customized products with superiorquality, while still benefiting from economies ofscale and offering human-centered jobs, withcyber-physical systems.
•Future infrastructures will support access toinformation everywhere and at all times withoutthe need for any specific installation orparameterization.
•Production resources will be self-managing and will connect to one another while products will know their own production systems.

Role of the Standards for Digitising of Industry
The EC package on “Digitising of European Industry”recognise that standardisation has an important role toplay, helping European industry in securing theirleadership in manufacturing and service provisionadapting best available digital technologies.
Standards allow devices and services to connectseamlessly across borders and technologies regardlessof manufacturer, technical details, or country of origin.
The collaboration between CEN-CENELEC-ETSI, industry,EC/EFTA Member States and other international andglobal organisations and initiatives, can pave the wayfor:•promoting an effective set of standards, taking intoaccount existing ones available at European and globallevel, resulting in an efficient support to digitisation ofindustry•providing the right standardisation infrastructure forinnovations to scale up
