(IEC); and Behaviour Change Communication (BCC)

9 Coordination of Population Programmes and Capacity Building

9 Research, Data Collection, Analysis and Dissemination

9 Integration of Population Variables in Development Planning

Institutional ArrangementsMany institutions are involved in implementing population-related programmes in Malawi, including government departments, parliamentarians, district councils, civil society organisations, and religious and traditional leaders. All stakeholders will play a role in implementing the National Population Policy, which will be guided by the National Population Policy Plan of Action.

Monitoring and EvaluationThe National Population Policy Plan of Action will contain a monitoring and evaluation (M&E) plan for the National Population Policy. System effectiveness and impact indicators that are aligned with the Malawi Growth and Development Strategy II M&E master plan will help track policy implementation progress.

The Ministry of Economic Planning and Development will coordinate the M&E process, ensuring that implementation of the policy is geared towards achieving measurable outcomes and impacts. Stakeholders and implementing partners will be responsible for M&E in their sectors, based on the National Population Policy Plan of Action and M&E indicators.
