I agree that flood mapping is valuable for construction, zoning, land use restrictions, However the 1% flood line is theoretical – But it can cost homeowners along a coast real money – Money that can essentially evict the average family – Especially for those who are moved into hazard zones – where none existed before – Despite your interpretation of the laws – that homeowner will pay more for flood Insurance in the future, period – and that house will, especially inland homes,Will become unsellable.
