It is practical in nature with a high degree of one-to-one tutoring. The journalism school has its own news website www.newswire.co.nz where students post their stories, photographs and videos. Students' news packages are also submitted to top news outlets like the New Zealand Herald, Stuff and Dominion Post and community newspapers such as The Wellingtonian.
