IN MODERN ANALYTICAL AND STANDARDIZATION TECHNIQUES’REPORT OF EVENT:

Total 110 participants had registered for GTU sponsored Two Days National Conferencetitled “Startup Entrepreneurship Opportunities in Modern Analytical and StandardizationTechniques” and reported at the registration desk between 9.15am – 9.45am on March23, 2018.

Inaugural function of the event was arranged in auditorium hall, Sardar Patel College ofPharmacy. Prof. (Dr.) R. H. PARIKH, Director, Graduate School of Pharmacy, GujaratTechnological University, Ahmedabad was the Chief Guest and key note speaker forinaugural function. Mr. H. D. DEHADE Manager, District Industry Centre, Anand was theGuest of Honor. Other dignitaries present were Mr. GIRISH J.PATEL, Chairman, SardarPatel Education Campus, Mr. SHITAL D. PATEL, Secretary, Sardar Patel EducationCampus and Prof. (Dr.) SAMIR K. SHAH, Principal, Sardar Patel Pharmacy College.Program started with traditional lamp lightening ceremony & GTU song followed by keynote address. Dr. Parikh sir highlighted availability of startup & innovative entrepreneurialopportunities and importance of commercially viable patents.

IN MODERN ANALYTICAL AND STANDARDIZATION TECHNIQUES’ Mr. Hemant D. Dehade delivered his talk on “Various Government Schemes for Startup

Entrepreneur for Small & Medium sized Enterprise sector” in his Plenary session-I.

Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh T. Chhabria, Principal, L.M.College of Pharmacy, Ahmedabaddelivered his scientific talk on “Spectral Analysis for Identification of unknowncompounds”.



IN MODERN ANALYTICAL AND STANDARDIZATION TECHNIQUES’ Plenary Session-III on “Herbal Pharmacovigilance” was discussed by Dr. Mamta B.

Shah, Associate Professor & Head, Department of Pharmacognosy, L.M. College ofPharmacy, Ahmedabad. All the three sessions were highly appreciated by allparticipants.

Post lunch session was started with Panel Discussion by well known personalities of theindustry and academia. Prof. (Dr.) Tejal R. Gandhi, Principal, Anand Pharmacy College,Anand & Dean, Gujarat Technological University – Zone 3 shared her views on initiativestaken by government in terms of Student Startup Innovation Policy for beingEntrepreneur. Dr. Nehal Sheth, Director, Ansys Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad andMr. Kartik Vikani, Director, Aum Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad briefed about KnowHow’s of Entrepreneurship with their vast industrial and practical experience. The panelmembers also discussed the new avenues to venture as entrepreneurs.







Panel Discussion was followed by Poster presentation Competition. 24 participants fromvarious colleges and universities like Gujarat Technological University, CHARUSAT,Parul University, Madhav University; Rajasthan had participated in the event andpresented their posters on various subjects specific to the event theme. Posters wereevaluated by invited judges and selected for Winner and Runner’s up position.




Second day of the conference started on high note. Delegates were observed interactingwith each other and looked very curious to get the knowledge during breakfast on thesecond day of the event. Mr. Vikram Trivedi, General Manager, Vasu Health Care Ltd.,Vadodara conducted Plenary Session-V. He guided participants on complete conceptfrom establishment of industry to marketing of the finished product in India and abroadas well. His talk was fully based on his personal practical experience.




Session was followed by oral presentation competition. Out of total 24 abstractsaccepted for oral presentation competition, 22 participants had presented their work.Participants have explained their research and review work on various titles in the field ofentrepreneurship and modern analytical & standardization techniques. Prof. (Dr.) D. M.Patel, Director, Post Graduate Research, Arihant School of Pharmacy & Bio-researchInstitute, Ahmedabad and Dr. Hasmukh Shah, Professor & Head, Department ofPhysiology, Pramukhswami medical college, Karamsad had given their valuable time forevaluating oral presentation competition. Winner and Runner’s up for oral presentationcategory were selected at the end of competition.




As soon as the lunch break was over, all the delegates had secured their seats inadvance to get ready to listen one of the most experienced researcher and academicianProf. (Dr.) Kirti S. Laddha, Professor in Pharmaceutical Science & Technology Division,Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Matunga, Mumbai who delivered his in depthviews on “Extraction and Isolation of Commercially important phyto-constituents & theirapplications for analysis and as Nutraceuticals – Case studies”. The session continuedwith importance and opportunities lying in herbal drugs from one of the most eminentpersonalities of the pharmaceutical field.




Valedictory function was held in presence of Prof. (Dr.) K. S. Laddha, Professor, ICT,Mumbai as the Chief guest and Prof. (Dr.) D. M. Patel, Professor, Arihant PharmacyInstitute, Ahmedabad as the Guest of Honor. Prof. (Dr.) Samir K. Shah, Principal,Sardar Patel Pharmacy College and event co-ordinators Dr. K. K. Dholwani & Mr. RahilA. Bhura were also present for valedictory function.



IN MODERN ANALYTICAL AND STANDARDIZATION TECHNIQUES’ Prizes were distributed for winners and runners up of poster and oral competition. Mr.

Darshan Contractor from Ramanbhai Patel College of Pharmacy, CHARUSAT securedfirst position in poster competition and was awarded with prize money Rs. 1000/- andcertificate of appreciation. Runner’s up position was shared between two participantsnamed Mr. Akshar Brahmbhatt (Sardar Patel College of Pharmacy, Bakrol) and Ms.Vishakhakumari Patel (A.R.College of Pharmacy, Vallabhvidyanagar).

For Oral presentation competition, Ms. Mansi Patel (Sardar Patel College of Pharmacy,Bakrol) secured first rank and felicitated by Rs. 1000/- prize money and certificate ofappreciation. The runner’s up position was shared by Ms. Mansi Dholakia (AnandPharmacy College, Anand) and Ms. Mital A. Patel (Anand Pharmacy College, Anand).




All the participating delegates were awarded certificate of participation. Event ended withthe vote of thanks being delivered by Dr. K. K. Dholwani. Efforts put in by all the staffmembers for successful organization and completion of two days’ national conferencewas exceptional.

We look forward to organizing more such events in association with GujaratTechnological University, Ahmedabad.
