India is one of the fastest growing economies in the world, and is seeing a steady growth based on strong management fundamentals. In this context, the success story of Indian business begins with a differentiation that continuously helps to gain competitive advantage. The experience of all globally successful companies underscores the fact that success depends on consistent innovation, so as to stay ahead of competition. Businesses can innovate on several fronts–in manufacturing–processes, technologies and management principles. Innovationis not a one-time exercise; it involves continuous efforts in re-inventing the firm’s products, services and processes in the light of market and technology developments.

As India seeks to maintain in its growth over the long term in manufacturing, Indian companies need to focus on developing capabilities in ‘innovation’. In this context, the companies need to address key questions such as

• What are the various management challenges in the Indian manufacturing sector, and how have companies addressed these challenges?• What is management innovation in the context of manufacturing?• What are the key success factors for successful innovation in manufacturing?• What are successful management practices in manufacturing industry?

This conference seeks to address these questions through the exchange of knowledge and experience from industry and academic professionals. Original papers are invited in the following tracks and themes

CALL FOR PAPERS/ CASES

Academicians, Practitioners and Research scholars are invited to submit original papers on the

above themes. Selected papers will be published as a chapter in the EDITED BOOK titled

“Innovative Growth Strategies for Competitive Advantage in Manufacturing Industry”by a leading

publisher with ISBN. The book will be released on the first day of the conference.

One paper in each track shall be given the BEST PAPER AWARD

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

1. Extended abstract of up to 400 words including introduction, significance, objectives,

and methodology has to be mailed to [email protected]

2. Cover page should show the conference track, title of the manuscript, the author’s name,

affiliation, and full address with e-mail ID.

3. Papers submitted for the conference should be in English in Times New Roman,

font size 12 and typed in 1.5 line space only on one side of the paper with a

1" margin on both sides.

4. The abstracts will be reviewed by the Advisory board.

5. For Full-paper (Max 2000 words) the necessary guidelines and format will be intimated

to the authors whose extended abstracts are selected.

6. All the correspondence shall be with the first author, in case of joint submission.

Registration

• The authors of the accepted papers will be issued certificates only if the conference

registration fee is paid.

• In case of multiple authors, all authors should register separately

• Paper presented in Absentia: Contributors who will not be able to come to the conference

can present the paper in absentia. They will get a certificate and also if their article is

selected it will be published as a Chapter in the edited book. A processing fee of Rs.500

will have to be paid for each paper presented in absentia, apart from the conference

registration/ publication fee

For the selected papers to be published, conference registration fee and chapter publication

fee should be paid on or before January 15, 2012

Registration Fee should be sent as a Demand draft in favor of Kumaraguru College of Technology

payable at Coimbatore
