SDTF Purpose To develop spray drift data required to

fulfill data call-in requirements from the USEPA.

Help formulate label language regarding application methods to reduce spray drift.

Provide educational opportunities to develop best management practices which reduce spray drift.

Purposes of the Coalition

Develop a national educational program that will bring about the desired behavior from applicators and other decision makers and thus, manage and minimize off-target drift of fertilizer and chemicals.

Achieve improved coordination and communication between the federal, state and local regulatory community and the educational and technological providers.

drift component in all educational programs. Completed Video

Proposed Actions for a Nationwide Program

Develop a basic video presentation to acquaint growers with drift fundamentals.

Develop video of spray table to visually demonstrate drift.

Develop materials for site-specific applicator technology.

Develop guidelines, booklets, carry-home materials.

Begin development of “smart systems” computer

model.
