HUNCH – High School (Getting Started)

• Step 1 – High school submits a proposal (fill out the blank provided)

• Step 2 – NASA evaluates proposal• Step 3 – NASA initiates a Space Act Agreement (SAA) with school

• Kick-off meeting• Recognition at the end of the school year• NASA / HUNCH Points of contact (POC)

• Technical POC to help answer fabrication questions• Management POC coordinate kick-off and recognition events.

HUNCH – High School (Expectations)

• School will pick out at least 2-3 parts they will make 5-10 of each part• School submits request for material and tooling• NASA procures and ships to school material and tooling• If material shipped directly from vendor, school will keep cert papers• Teacher will decide if controlled storage of materials is needed• School will machine part to drawing• School will fill out steps 1-5 of the subassembly process sheet • School will fill out dimensional inspection report or CMM report• NASA will provide stamps for Controlled storage and paper work

HETC – High School

• Step 1 – School has at least one piece of HAAS equipment• Step 2 – School becomes a member of the HTEC network• Step 3 – HTEC and School partner to grow school capability• Expectation

• Competent instructor at school

HUNCH – HETC

• Step 1 – HUNCH is a member of the HTEC network• Step 2 – Is there a need for a SAA?• Expectations

• Both parties are focused at promoting the field of machining in the USA.

Attachments

• HUNCH Precision Machining Proposal (Blank) • Teachers fill this out if they would like to become a member of the HUNCH team.

• ISS Single Storage Locker • Simple word document showing parts and assembly. Teacher would pick 2-3 parts.

• Space Act Agreement (SAA) • Blank showing typical words in a SAA, do not fill this out and submit.

• Paperwork example for part SDG46117030, tool guide• Drawing, Process Sheet 881, and Dimensional Inspection Report 829.
