NRMA Bus Safety Today our Kindergarten students had the opportunity to experience travelling on a school bus, courtesy of Betsy Mahoney. For some it was a first time experience. It is very important that our students know and understand how to keep safe when travelling on buses as many of them access this form of transport every day. Many thanks to Linda Ball from NRMA, Betsy Mahoney from Mahoney’s Bus Service and Brendan from the NSW Police Force for running this program at the start of every year. Water Fun Charity day We don’t mind if the weather heats up again on Thursday this week as Mrs Davis has planned lots of fun activities all involving water, for our first charity day for the year. The slip and slide is always a big hit! Volunteers There has been a wonderful response from parents for stadium, canteen and reading group support so far this year, particularly from our new families. We really appreciate your assistance and your own children will love having you here. Canteen news Thank you to those parents who have put their names down for canteen duty this term. Chelsea is most appreciative. I noticed last Friday that several students who ordered lunch from the canteen also had quite a lot of money to spend at buying time. They also had lunch boxes full of treats. Chelsea has suggested that $2.00 - $2.50 is plenty for buying time and that students be reminded not to ‘share’ their money with friends. Cricket Clinic Last Friday was the first of four cricket clinics to be held at our school with Ben McInnes. Each class will have a half hour session each week learning the basic skills of cricket in a fun
and active way. Thank you Mrs Ash for organising this. Scripture This Friday we welcome Mrs McDerrmott back for 2019. Mrs McDermott is our Scripture teacher and our students always look forward to her visit each week. Lessons are fun, involving music and drama, are nondenominational, based around morals and values. Have a great week of learning everyone Karen Babbs Principal
