We are geng closer to things being normal again. There has been a ‘mixed’ response to the school work teachers have prepared over the last 5 weeks. Well done to the students who have embraced remote learning. If, for whatever reason, you have not worked extensively over this remote learning period there is me to turn this around for the end of semester assessment. Please ask teachers for help in any possible catch-ups. Parades The school is sll operang under some restricons due to Covid-19. The main one is the inability to have parades, either full school or year level. We have overcome this and we have collecvely become very good at using Skype to sll be able to have these parades. Hygiene I wish to remind parents about the ongoing hygiene pracces that schools are asking students to partake in. Hand saniser is available in all classrooms and we encourage students to regularly wash their hands. Please keep students home if they are unwell. Winter Uniform With cooler days coming now may be the me to check what the winter uniform opons are - these can be found in our Student School Diary. Please remember to clearly label all student clothing so it can be returned in the event something is misplaced. Condolences You will have received informaon about the sudden passing of our School Facilies Officer David Grover. Our school is extremely saddened by this news. David was an integral part of our school for over a decade. He helped organise many events and was ‘behind the scenes’ of many of the school funcons. He was a friend to many and to say he will be missed is an understatement. I know you will join me in passing on our sincere sympathies to Georgina and the family. As always there are many support agencies at the school to help the community through this difficult me. Please contact the school to access these services. I have also included some phone numbers if required. Darryl Early PRINCIPAL

The theme of this year is ‘In This Together.’ Although, this theme was decided before the pandemic, we can now
identify with this even more. Whether we are in crisis or reconciliation, we are all #inthistogether.
This year for the launch, everyone is asked to take to social media to acknowledge Country. We can’t be physically
together to show respect, but we can show respect to Country where we are. Consult the AIATSIS Map of Indigenous
Australia for a guide to Traditional Owners of land you are on and tag traditional owners and/or your own mob plus
#inthistogether #NRW2020
Reconciliation Australia and ABC are also hosting an hour of deadly
music ‘In Concert Together’ on ABC Radio and Reconciliation Australia
Facebook Livestream 9pm on Friday 29th May.
You may also be interested in a fundraising activity taking place during National Reconciliation Week. Run Rona 2020 is a virtual run or walk taking place 30th & 31st May 2020.
Looking after our physical, emotional and spiritual health right now is
a huge protective factor in staying well. Getting some time outdoors
safely and connecting to the land, Country, does wonders for our well
-being. Body, mind, spirit and Country … it’s all connected and
Aboriginal people have known this for tens of thousands of years.
Find some Rona-vation (motivation) and get outside this weekend. If you want to sign up at https://clothingthegap.com.au/pages/run-rona you can support grassroots Health Promotion Programs in Aboriginal communities. But even if you don’t sign up, it’s free to take a walk or run outside this weekend.
The new Tuckshop system is working well and due to the positive feedback this way of operation will continue. All students and families can order either online or by ordering and prepaying at the Tuckshop before 9:00 am. Over the counter sales for drinks, chips and ice blocks are still happening.
Many families are enjoying the convenience of ordering and paying via our online app called Qkr! This is a safe and secure app run by MasterCard. It can be downloaded onto all devices. This system has great benefits to students as we are able to guarantee students their favourite lunch and avoid a long wait in the tuckshop queue. Please see instructions below.
For those who do not wish to use online ordering, students are able to order and pay for their lunch prior to school commencing each day. They simply go to the tuckshop and order when they arrive at school. All orders must be in prior to the bell going for Form. Students may pay via cash or EFTPOS.
